About this race
2026 New York State Bicycle Racing Association Individual Time Trial Championships
Welcome to the 2026 New York State Bicycle Racing Association (nysbra) Individual Time Trial Championships!
Event Date: August 16, 2026 in Tioga Center, NY.
Fees
- Early Registration: Early discount prices are in effect until 2 months before the event.
- Regular Registration: Regular prices ($5 more) until 1 month before the event.
- Final Prices: Prices increase another $5 after the regular registration period.
- Total Costs: For most adults, fees will be $27, $32, and $37 respectively.
Eligibility
- License Requirement: An annual USA Cycling (USAC) license is mandatory.
- Residency: Participants must reside in New York State as indicated on your USAC license.
- Open Racing: Everyone is welcome, including out-of-state and one-day-license riders.
- Championship Eligibility: Only NY state resident annual license holders qualify for NYSBRA State Championship medals and jersey.
NYSBRA Special Rule for Racing
For one-day TTs, you may enter any category equal to or higher than the "road" category shown on your license.
Racing by Age
Your age must be consistent with the age range specified for your category.
Entering Multiple Categories
- Additional Entries: Each additional category entry is only $20 (TTT excluded).
- Same Distance: If the races are the same distance, you race once and appear in multiple results.
- Different Distances: If different, you must complete both races to be eligible for results.
- Waivers: BikeReg treats each category as a unique entry, requiring waivers for each.
The Course
- Course Description: The course heads west on Rt. 17c towards Waverly with turnaround distances of 5km, 10km, or 20km.
- Road Conditions: The course is mostly flat on a lightly-traveled state highway with wide shoulders.
- Backup Course: Halsey Valley Road is the backup, known for its rollers and steep bumps.

Start Times
- Starting Time: The first rider will start at 10:01 am, synchronized with the digital clock.
- Email Notification: Registrants will receive their start times via email by midnight, Friday, August 14.
- Race-Day Technical Guide: A master start list will be posted online.
- Start Time Calculation: Your bib number corresponds to your start time in minutes after 10 am.
Registration
- Pre-registration: Pre-registration online is preferred for easier logistics.
- Day-of Registration: Accepted for $75, with start times assigned as available.
- USAC Waiver: A standard waiver is required at the time of registration.
- One-Day License: You may purchase for $15 but are ineligible for championship medals.
Helmets
Helmets are required for all participants on a bike. Sleeveless jerseys or tri-suits are allowed.
Junior Equipment
Juniors 9-14 must use mass-start legal bikes. Pointy helmets and colorful booties are acceptable.
Paracycling / Adaptive Cycling
All para and adaptive athletes are welcome. Categories will be determined based on athlete input before the event.
Eddy Merckx Equipment
This category allows various standard and traditional equipment similar to what juniors can ride.
Team Time Trial (TTT)
This is not a championship event but includes prizes for different team categories.
Awards
Podium ceremonies occur approximately hourly. NY residents with annual licenses will receive championship medals.

- From the West: Take Route 17/I-86 east to Nichols exit, proceeding to Tioga Center.
- From the East: Take Route 17/I-86 west to Rt. 17c Owego exit, and continue to Tioga Center.
