Race Description

Hawaii Cycling Club presents the legendary 6.5 mile bicycle race 3000 feet straight up Kaloko Dr. on September 20, 2026, at 7:30 AM. The PTYP is a CAT 1 climb, averaging 8.9% grade with 18% - 20% grades on the hair pin turns, a real monster, and is the oldest continuous bicycle race – over 30 years - on the Big Island.

Event Day Info

• Sign In: 6:45 AM - 7:15 AM
• Where: Intersection of Hina Lani St. and Kohanaiki Rd., Kailua Kona
• Pre-Race Meeting: 7:15 AM – 7:20 AM
• Start: First rider off at approximately 7:30 AM, then every 30 seconds.

Race Format

• Sign-In Numbers: Assigned on day of event at sign-in based on seeding
• Format: Time trial format, participants seeded slowest to fastest, starting at 30 second intervals. E-Bikes go last.
• On the Road: Stay as far right as is safe and allow faster riders to pass on the left.
• Timing: HCC event officials will use webscorer.com. Results will be available immediately upon finishing at www.webscorer.com/hawaiicyclingclub

Post-Race
