Fall Creek Falls Half Iron, Olympic & Calfkiller Sprint Triathlons

Event Overview

The 21st annual Fall Creek Falls Triathlons take place every year at the beautiful Fall Creek Falls State Park. The Olympic distance race began back in 2005 and races have expanded with the addition of Sprint and Half Iron distances.

Race Distances

• Calfkiller Sprint Triathlon: S 500 mtr. - B 22K - R 5K
• Fall Creek Falls Half Iron Distance Triathlon: S 1.2 Mi - B 56 Mi - R 13.1 Mi.
• Olympic Distance: .93 mile (1.5k) swim, 24.8 mile (40k) bike, and 6.2 mile (10k) run.
• Weekend Events: Sunday events include HALF MARATHON, 10K & 5K runs

Location and Accessibility

The events take place at Tennessee's most popular state park and is centrally located between Knoxville, Nashville, and Chattanooga, making it very accessible.

• Time Zone: Fall Creek Falls Park is in Central time zone. If you are traveling from Eastern, enjoy your extra hour!
• Arrival Time: Arrive at site no later than 6 AM CST for ample time for parking and packet pickup.
• Transition Closing: TRANSITION CLOSING @ 7:30 AM.
• Accommodations: Please reserve cabins and campsites ASAP.

Packet Pickup

• Friday: 4-7 PM at the tent on the east ball field.
• Saturday: Starting at 5 AM at the race site.
• Location: Course maps are located lower on this page by distance.
• More Information: Pre-race information will be out early race week.

Course Aid and Awards

• Course Aid: Half Iron Bike will have Deer Park 700 ml water bottles at mile 24 & 39 turn-arounds.
• Run Aid: Water and Gatorade at each station.
• Awards: Top 3 overall & top 3 age group awards for each of the three events.
• Event Features: Highlights of a wonderful time to be had by all in this quiet rural setting.

Race start times: Saturday - 7:00 AM Central Time - HALF IRON, 7:30 AM OLYMPIC, 8 AM SPRINT.

Age Groups and Awards

Overall awards for the top three male and female finishers & top three male and female masters. Age group awards for first, second, and third place in the following M & F age groups: 12-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-55, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over & top 3 Clydesdale & Athena. Open Relay Division: Male, Female, and Co-ed.

Insurance and Policies

• Event Insurance: Available for your consideration during registration.
• Refund Policy: NO REFUND policy. Insurance is available.
• Event Cancellation: Steps taken in case of a natural or community disaster.
• Financial Responsibility: No refunds or free entries to future races.

Further Information

All Bald Eagle Events triathlon events are sanctioned by USA Triathlon. Participants must purchase either a one-day license or annual membership to participate in the event.
