Malverne 5K Run for Education

🏃‍♂️ Malverne 5K Run-Walk

The Malverne 5K run-walk for education is organized by the Malverne Educational and Fitness Foundation (MEFF). The net proceeds of the 5K run go to the MEFF, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization that supports youth programs within the Malverne school district. The packet pickup and day-of-run registration take place at the Malverne high school at 7:00–7:45 a.m. (school located east of Ocean Ave).

👧 Kids Fun Run

The main event, 5K run, is preceded by a fun run (200 meters) for kids of age 10 and under. The fun run starts at 8:30. The start of the kids run is at the intersection of Wicks Ln and N. Cambridge Street. Kids (and their parents) run on Wicks Ln toward the start of the 5K run, H.T. Herber school.

🛤️ 5K Run Course

The Malverne 5K run and walk starts at 9:00 at Wicks Lane next to the H.T. Herber middle school gym (75 Ocean Ave). The 5K course is winding through Malverne, Lynbrook, and Lakeview. The finish is behind the Malverne high school. Parking is available at the two HS parking lots and adjacent streets. Please, do not park on Wicks Lane, the start location and course direction!

🏅 Awards

• Fun run: Each participant gets a finisher's medal.
• 5K Run: Top 3 males/females overall.
• Age Groups: Top 3 males/females 11 & under, 12–14, 15–19, and then every 5 years up to age 84.
• Special Categories: Physically Challenged, Wheelchair.
