Malverne 5K Run for Education

Malverne 5K Run-Walk

The Malverne 5K run-walk for education is organized by the Malverne Educational and Fitness Foundation (MEFF).

• Proceeds: The net proceeds of the 5K run go to the MEFF, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
• Support: Funds support youth programs within the Malverne school district.
• Packet Pickup: Takes place at Malverne High School starting at 7:30 a.m. (school located east of Ocean Ave).

Fun Run

The main event, the 5K run, is preceded by a fun run (200 meters) for children aged 10 and under.

• Start Time: The fun run starts at 8:30.
• Location: The start of the kids run is at the intersection of Wicks Ln and N Cambridge Street.
• Route: Kids (and their parents) run on Wicks Ln toward the start line of the 5K run at H.T. Herber school.

5K Run Course

Malverne 5K run/walk starts at 9:00 at Wicks Lane next to the H.T. Herber Middle School gym (75 Ocean Ave).

• Course: The 5K course winds through Malverne, Lynbrook, and Lakeview.
• Finish Line: The finish is behind Malverne High School.
• Parking: Available at the two HS parking lots and adjacent streets, except Wicks Lane.

Awards

The awards are not duplicated.

• Fun Run: Each participant gets a finisher's medal.
• 5K Run: Top 3 males/females overall.
• Age Groups: Top 3 males/females 11 & under, 12–14, 15–19, and then every 5 years up to age 84.
• Special Categories: Awards for Physically Challenged, Wheelchair.
