Thank you for participating in the National MPS Society Run/Walk, and Post Office Cafe's 35th Annual 5K & 1K Fun Run. This event will raise awareness and funds for the National MPS Society.

In Memory

In our community, the Walk/Run will be held at the Post Office Cafe in celebration of Mark and Casey Lessing. In 2010, Mark lost his 20 year battle with the disorder MPS IIIA. His sister Casey passed away July, 2016 at the age of 24.

About MPS

• Genetic Disorder: MPS and related diseases are genetic disorders that affect major organs in the body, including the respiratory system, heart, bones, and nervous system.
• Affected Population: Affecting mostly children, it is caused by the body's inability to produce certain enzymes.
• Need for Treatment: There are hundreds of children around the country waiting for a treatment and eventually a cure for these rare, progressive, and deadly diseases.

Mission of the National MPS Society

The National MPS Society's mission is to provide support for individuals and their families affected by MPS or ML.

• Awareness Goals: Our goals are to increase public and professional awareness and to support research.
• Ultimate Goal: The Society's ultimate goal is to find a cure for MPS disorders.
