Whether you’re a new triathlete or have several triathlons under your belt, the Last Chance Tri at the Mattoon YMCA is a great event for you! The swim portion of the race is held in the indoor pool at the Mattoon Area Family YMCA, and the bike and run segments also begin and end at the Y.

Team Participation

• Support and Motivation: Need some support and motivation? Maybe you don’t like to swim or bike?
• Team Registration: You can enlist the help of a friend and register as a team of two or three!
• Guarantee: All participants who are registered by September 8th are guaranteed to receive a tech shirt.

• Program Date: Sunday, October 4, 2026
• Start Time: 1:00 P.M.
• Registration Fees: $70 Individual / $50 Individual Per Team
• Race Day Registration: $75 Individual / $60 Individual Per Team

Race Components

• Swim: 275 yard indoor pool swim
• Bike: 12 mile bike ride and finishes
• Run: 3.1 mile run
• Individual Divisions: 15 & Under, 16–22, 23–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60–69, 70 & Over

Awards

• Overall Finishers: Awards are presented to Overall Male/Female finishers
• Age Groups: Gender/age group - Top 3

Rules and Guidelines

• Helmet Requirement: Helmets are required!
• USAT Guidelines: While we are not USAT sanctioned, USAT rules WILL be used as a guideline for this race.

Important Schedule

• Packet Pick Up: 11:00-12:30 pm
• New Triathlete Orientation: 11:30-12:00 pm
• Pool Open for Swimming: 12:00 pm
• Pre-Race Meeting: 12:45 pm
• Race Start: 1:00 pm
• Awards: 3:45 pm
