It is a movement dedicated to bringing hope, promoting healthy lifestyles, and supporting those living with diabetes.
Why Diabetes Awareness Matters
Diabetes is one of the fastest-growing health challenges in our communities. Many people are unaware of the serious complications that diabetes can cause, including:
- Vision loss: Blindness and visual impairment.
- Kidney disease: Serious complications that affect health.
- Nerve damage: Impacting everyday life.
- Heart disease: Stroke and cardiovascular risks.
Our Mission
- Education: Educating families about diabetes prevention and management.
- Physical Activity: Encouraging physical activity through walking and running.
- Healthy Lifestyles: Promoting healthy lifestyles for all ages.
- Mental Health: Supporting mental health by bringing people together through community events.
Why the Lions Serve
The Lions Clubs International is the world's largest service organization. Its global causes include eight areas of service, one of which is Diabetes. Lions around the world are committed to reducing the impact of diabetes through education, screening, prevention, and community outreach. The Stockton Healthy Leo-Lions Club proudly supports this mission by organizing events that inspire healthier communities.
