About Heart Disease
Heart disease remains the leading cause of death globally, affecting millions of lives each year. Guyana leads the Caribbean in cardiovascular disease, with ischemic heart diseases being the leading cause of death, according to Global Heart, the official journal of World Heart Foundation.

- Campaign: The SOCA Heart Project is dedicated to fighting heart disease and promoting active living across Guyana.
- Your Impact: Your participation helps to fund Heart Health Research.
- Training: Led by STRIDE592, the project features weekly walk-run training sessions, free health screenings, and public education initiatives.
- Partnerships: Collaborating with the Ministry of Health, Woodlands Hospital Limited, and the Heart Foundation.

Participate in the 5K/10K Walk|Run, Kids Fun Run, and Wellness Festival on September 27, 2026. A morning filled with fitness, fun, education, and liming, it welcomes everyone of all ages and abilities.
Join Us Virtually
Can't be with us on race day? Walk, run, or move with us from wherever you are. We aim to engage at least 500 persons across the region and diaspora to support Heart Health in Guyana. Register today to complete your Virtual Race, with all proceeds going to the SOCA Heart Research Initiative.
