Frantic Frog Fall Sprint Triathlon and 5k

Race Overview

This is the 2nd Frantic Frog Sprint of the year. The Goose Pond Island Frantic Frog Fall Sprint Triathlon will take place at the Goose Pond Colony Resort, located in Scottsboro, Alabama on September 19th, 2026.

5K Run Addition

• New Event: We have added a 5k Run to the event this year.
• Course: It will be the same course as the triathlon run portion.
• Eligibility: You won’t be required to have a USAT membership for the 5k.
• Invitation: We invite all to come enjoy the beauty and challenge awaiting in our host Northern Alabama venue!

Packet Pickup

• Schedule: Packet Pickup on Friday from 5 PM - 7 PM & Saturday from 6:30 AM - 7:30 AM.
• Location: At the grassy area just outside of the Docks Restaurant.
• Parking: Please park on the north side of the pool and not by the transition area.
• Check-in: Participants need to be checked in by 7:30 AM, and transition closes at 7:45 AM.

Race Details

• Start Time: Frantic Frog Sprint race includes a 500 meter Swim, 14 mile Bike & 5K run beginning at 8 AM Central.

• 5k Course: The 5k will be the same Run route as the triathlon above.
• Amenities: Race packets will include race t-shirt, swim cap (must be worn).

Insurance and Participation

• Event Insurance: Bald Eagle Events has enabled event insurance for your consideration in the event you are unable to compete.
• USAT Rules: ALL USAT RULES APPLY – Goose Pond Island Half Iron Distance Triathlon is a USAT sanctioned event.
• Membership Requirement: A one-day USAT license is $15 and an annual USAT membership is $50.
• Youth Licenses: A youth one day or annual USAT license is $10.

Awards and Categories

• Overall Awards: Top three male and female finishers & top male and female masters.
• Age Group Awards: First, second, and third place in age groups of 12-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-55, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over & top 3 Clydesdale & Athena.
• Relay Division: Open Relay Division: Male, Female, and Co-ed.
• Entry Policy: Race entries are non-transferable between individuals.

Refund and Cancellation Policy

• No Refund Policy: Bald Eagle Events has a NO REFUND policy.
• Insurance Option: Insurance is available during the registration of each event.
• Cancellation Steps: Decisions will be made based on safety first: courses may be altered.
• Financial Policy: Participants need to accept the risk of their entry fee: no refunds for events canceled for reasons beyond control.
