Frantic Frog Spring Sprint Triathlon and 5k

Event Overview

The Goose Pond Island Frantic Frog Spring Sprint Triathlon returns to the Goose Pond Colony Resort, located in Scottsboro, Alabama on May 23rd 2026.

We have added a 5k Run to the event this year, for those that don't feel challenged to participate in the Triathlon.

• Same Course: It will be the same course as the triathlon run portion.
• No Membership Required: You won’t be required to have a USAT membership for the 5k.

We invite all to come enjoy the beauty and challenge awaiting in our host Northern Alabama venue!

Packet Pickup

Packet Pickup will be on Friday 5 PM - 7:00 PM & Saturday 6:30-7:30 AM at the grassy area just outside of the Docks Restaurant.

• Parking: Please park on the north side of the pool and not by the transition area.
• Early Arrival Needed: If you are picking up your packet on race day morning, you will need to arrive early.
• Check-in: Participants need to be checked in by 7:30 AM and transition closes at 7:45 AM.

Race Details

The Frantic Frog Sprint race includes a 500 meter Swim, 14 mile Bike & 5K run beginning at 8 AM Central.

• Swim: Start at the end of the pier with a rectangular course & beach exit. Map Link
• Bike: An out & back course. Map Link
• Run: An out and back route into campground & return to finish by transition. Map Link

The 5k will be the same Run route as the triathlon above.

Athlete Amenities

• Race Packets: Will include race t-shirt and swim cap (must be worn).
• Finishers: Medals for all finishers.

USAT Information

ALL USAT RULES APPLY – Goose Pond Island Half Iron Distance Triathlon is a USAT sanctioned event. USAT officials will referee the event.

• Membership Required: Each participant must purchase a one-day license or annual membership.
• One-day License Fee: $15.
• Annual Membership Fee: $50.

Awards and Age Groups

Overall awards for the top three male and female finishers & top male and female masters.

• Age Group Awards: First, second, and third place in age groups 12-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-55, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over & top 3 Clydesdale & Athena.
• Relay Division: Male, Female, and Co-ed.

Policies

• No Refund Policy: Bald Eagle Events has a NO REFUND policy.
• Insurance: Available during registration of each event.

Race entries are non-transferable between individuals.

Event Cancellation / Modification Policy

If a natural or community disaster occurs, action steps are as follows:

1. Bald Eagle Events will make decisions based on safety first.
2. Courses and/or race segments may be altered as agreed by Bald Eagle Events LLC and local officials.
3. No refunds will be issued as the fees paid are spent on event development.
