The 3rd Annual Run for Palestine (RfP) Vancouver is back! This fun, family-friendly event welcomes all members of the community to walk 1 km or run 5 km while raising vital funds for humanitarian aid in Palestine.

Why We Run

In partnership with Islamic Relief Canada, this year's fundraising will support the Eye Cataract Surgery Project at the Specialized Eye Hospital in Northern Gaza, Palestine, as well as Phase 2 of last year's humanitarian response project in Gaza.

This year's support will help provide:

• Life-changing surgeries: Cataract surgeries and specialized eye care for vulnerable patients at risk of preventable blindness.
• Emergency assistance: Food and health services for families affected by the ongoing crisis.
• Sponsorship: Support for orphans in desperate need of care and support.
• Basic necessities: Clean water, healthcare, shelter, and psychosocial support.

Making an Impact

Through Phase 1 of the Eye Cataract Surgery Project, your support helped achieve:

• Beneficiaries reached: 9,782 individuals supported.
• Medical consultations: 13,478 consultations provided.
• Clinical services: More than 122,562 services delivered.
• Ophthalmic surgeries: 1,136 surgeries completed, including 359 cataract surgeries.

Phase 2 of the eye care project is now underway, with more than 519 surgeries completed in its first two months across multiple specialties, including cataract, retinal, glaucoma, corneal, pediatric, and other vision-saving procedures.

Patients are selected based on medical need and urgency through assessments conducted by the hospital’s ophthalmology teams. The project prioritizes vulnerable conflict-affected populations in Northern Gaza, including low-income families, elderly individuals at risk of preventable blindness, trauma patients, and children and adults requiring specialized eye care.

Fund a Cataract Surgery: A donation of $1,200 CAD can restore sight by covering the full cost of one life-changing cataract surgery.

Sponsor an Orphan: Just $90/month can provide a child with life-saving care and dignity.

Donate, Run, or Volunteer: Every contribution helps provide essential healthcare, humanitarian support, and hope to vulnerable families and patients in Gaza.
