About this race
HoliTrot Fall Festival Trail Run

You know it's fall in Ellicottville when the HoliTrot comes around. The trees turns every shade of red and gold, the lift starts turning, and the whole mountain fills up with runners, families, fun costumes, and a finish line that smells like soup and cider. It's about as good as an October morning gets!
It's the HoliTrot Trail Run!
The 5K
The course takes you across the top of the mountain and then eases downhill along HoliMont's mountain bike trails, finishing at the base of the Exhibition Lift. There are rocky patches and some uneven footing here and there, so trail shoes will serve you well. The views across the valley are worth the trip on their own.
The Kids Race
About a mile across the top of the mountain around Saddle Pond. When they cross the finish, they can ride the chairlift back down, which means parents running the 5K can send them off with a hug and head straight to the start line for the 10:00 AM start!
The chairlift does the climbing!
Both races begin with a ride up the Exhibition Lift to the top of the mountain, right when the foliage is at its very best. From there, the only direction is down.

- 9:30 AM: Kids Race (ages 10 and under)
- 10:00 AM: 5K Trail Run (ages 11 and up)

- Registration Period: August 24 - October 10, 2026
- Kids Race: $20 (10 & under)
- 5K Run: $40 (11 & up)
Race Day October 11, 2026
- Kids Race: $25 (10 & under)
- 5K Run: $50 (11 & up)
T-shirts: will be available to runners who register before September 28, 2026.
New this year … Costume Contest
Awards for best adult, best kid and best team, so there's plenty of time to dream up something good.
Awards
Top three overall for each gender & Top Team (6+ runners) award.
At the finish
A race tee for everyone, along with beer, cider and soup from Dina's at the Mont. Spectators are welcome to ride the lift free of charge & the top of the mountain is the best seat in the house.
