MONSTER DASH 5K & TRUNK OR TREAT

The Monster Dash 5K & Trunk or Treat is more than just a race—it’s a full evening of Halloween fun for the whole family.

Runners and walkers can hit the 5K course in costume, compete in our Best Costume Contest, and then stick around after the race for a community Trunk or Treat featuring up to 75 decorated vehicles. Families can enjoy candy, music, food, activities, and our Best Decorated Car/Trunk Contest all in one place.

Whether you’re chasing a personal best, walking with friends, or just looking for a fun Halloween tradition, Monster Dash is designed to be welcoming, festive, and family-friendly. Plus, the first 100 registered runners receive an official event T-shirt.

Best of all, your registration supports the Navarre Youth Sports Association and helps us continue providing youth sports opportunities and improving facilities for local families.

EVENT DETAILS AND SCHEDULE

Get ready to run, dress up, and have a frightfully fun night at the 2026 Monster Dash 5K & Trunk or Treat, hosted by the Navarre Youth Sports Association!

Join us on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at the Navarre Soccer Complex for a family-friendly Halloween 5K followed by an evening of Trunk or Treat fun.

First 100 registered runners: Receive an official Monster Dash 5K event T-shirt.

Proceeds: Benefit the Navarre Youth Sports Association (NYSA) and help support youth sports programs and facilities in our community.

EVENT SCHEDULE

Saturday, October 24, 2026

• 4:00 PM: Runner check-in and race-day registration opens
• 4:45 PM: Runners begin lining up near the start area
• 4:50 PM: Welcome, announcements, and course/safety briefing
• 5:00 PM: Monster Dash 5K START

Following the 5K, Trunk or Treat opens for runners, families, and the community. Race awards and Best Costume Contest will occur after the race, followed by fun activities for the evening.

Participants should plan to arrive at least 45–60 minutes before the 5:00 PM race start.

THE COURSE

The Monster Dash is a 5K (3.1-mile) course beginning and ending at or near the Navarre Soccer Complex. The event is designed to be welcoming to runners and walkers of a variety of experience levels.

• Course Markings: Directional signage, and volunteers/course marshals will help guide participants along the route.
• Final Course Map: A final course map and race-specific instructions will be provided to registered participants as the event approaches.
• Course Rules: Please stay on the designated course and follow the instructions of race officials, volunteers, law enforcement, and course marshals at all times.

ARRIVAL & CHECK-IN

Please arrive early!

We recommend arriving between 4:00 and 4:15 PM.

Upon arrival:

• Park: In a designated participant parking area.
• Check-in: Proceed to the Monster Dash runner check-in area.
• Receive Race Materials: Check in and receive any applicable race materials.
• T-shirt Pickup: Pick up your event T-shirt if you are among the first 100 registered runners.
• Be Near Start: Be near the starting area no later than 4:45 PM.
• Listen: To the pre-race safety and course briefing.

Race-day registration may be available beginning at 4:00 PM, space permitting.

PARKING

Parking will be available at and around the Navarre Soccer Complex. Please follow all event signs and parking volunteer instructions.

• Reserved Areas: Some parking areas are reserved for Trunk or Treat vehicles, event staff, vendors, and emergency vehicles.
• Traffic Patterns: Anticipate different parking areas and patterns due to up to 75 decorated vehicles participating in Trunk or Treat.
• Safety: Please do not park in fire lanes, along emergency access routes, or in closed or reserved areas.

REGISTRATION PRICING

• Early Bird Registration: $25 through October 3
• Regular Registration: $30 October 4–21
• Race Day Registration: $35 October 24, space permitting

EVENT T-SHIRTS

First 100 registered runners: Receive an official Monster Dash 5K event T-shirt. T-shirt sizes are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.

WAIVERS & IDENTIFICATION

All participants must complete the required event waiver as part of registration. Participants under 18 must have their registration and required waiver completed or authorized by a parent or legal guardian.

Please be prepared to provide identification at check-in if needed. Participants registering on race day will be required to complete all applicable registration information and waivers before participating.

WHAT TO BRING

We recommend bringing:

• Your registration confirmation
• Photo identification
• Water or your preferred hydration
• Comfortable running or walking shoes
• Any personal medications you may require
• A change of clothes if desired
• A small light, glow item, or reflective gear for after the race
• Your Halloween spirit!

Please clearly label personal belongings. NYSA is not responsible for lost, stolen, or unattended personal property.

WHAT TO WEAR

This is the Monster Dash, so costumes are encouraged! However, safety comes first. Please ensure:

• Costumes allow you to see clearly.
• Costumes allow for safe running or walking.
• Costumes do not drag on the ground.
• Costumes do not contain sharp or dangerous objects.
• Costumes are family-friendly and appropriate for kids.
• Comfortable athletic shoes are strongly recommended.
• Evening Activities: Reflective clothing, glow accessories, or lights are encouraged.

BEST COSTUME CONTEST

Come dressed to impress—or scare! Participants will have the opportunity to compete in our Best Costume Contest. Creativity is encouraged, but all costumes must remain family-friendly and safe for a youth-oriented community event.
