Lions on the Leon Captain "D" Dash for "Sight" 5K Run/Walk

Event Overview

• Event Name: LIONS on the Leon Captain "D" Dash for “Sight” 5K Fun Run/Walk
• Date: Saturday, October 3rd, 2026
• Location: Heritage Park, Belton, Texas
• Hosted By: Belton Lions Club

Race Details

• Start Time: 8:30am (Opening Ceremony at 8:15am)
• Course: Starting at the Lions Pavilion, proceeding out and down Park Avenue, returning along Park Avenue to the trail around the baseball fields and along the Leon River.
• Water Stations: Four (4) water stations will be available.
• Race Snacks: Snacks will be provided on return.

Awards and Recognition

• Timing: Timed event with timing by Pro-Fit Race Timing.
• Award Categories: Awards for the top overall male and female finishers and the top three male/female finishers in each age group.
• Age Groups: 11&U, 12-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+
• Costume Awards: Four (4) People's Choice awards will be given.

Registration Information

• Regular Registration Fees: 5K - $35.00 (thru September 17): after September 17: 5K- $40.00.
• Discounted Rate: Registrants age 17 & under can register for $20.00 (T-shirts not included at this rate).
• Early Packet Pick-Up: Strongly Encouraged at John Corsi State Farm Insurance, 100 Lake Road, Belton.
• Race Day Registration: 7:00 a.m.-7:45 a.m.: credit cards only.

Important Notes

• Roadblocks: Will be set in place at 8:15am for the protection of runners and walkers.
• Arrival: Please plan to ARRIVE EARLY: and stay until roadblocks are removed.

• Stroller Access: Strollers are welcome!
