Event Overview

LIONS on the Leon Captain "D" Dash for “Sight” 5K Fun Run/Walk 2026 is scheduled for Saturday, October 3rd, Heritage Park in Belton, Texas - hosted by the Belton Lions Club!

Race Details

• Start Time: 8:30am, starting at the Lions Pavilion
• Route: Proceeding out and down Park Avenue, returning along Park Avenue to the trail around the baseball fields and along the Leon River: ending at Lions Pavilion
• Water Stations: Four (4) water stations available
• Race Snacks: Available on return

Timing and Awards

This is a timed event, with timing by Pro-Fit Race Timing.

• Award Categories: Awards for top overall male and female finishers, and the top three male/female finishers in each age group
• Age Groups: 11&U, 12-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+
• Additional Awards: Costume Awards – Four (4) Awards (People’s Choice)
• No Duplicate Awards: Only one award per participant

• Swag Bag: Every registered 5K participant will receive a Swag “Pirate’s Booty” Bag
• Bib Raffle Entry: Included with registration
• Medals: Custom Spinner Race Medal
• Sunglasses: Event Sunglasses (while supplies last)

Registration Information

• Event T-Shirt: Guaranteed to full registrations, if registered by September 17th
• Regular Registration Fees: 5K - $35.00 (thru September 17): 5K - $40.00 (after September 17)
• Reduced Price: Registrants age 17 & under can receive a reduced price: free event t-shirt not available at the discounted rate
• Alternate Registration: May appear as you register

Packet Pick-Up

Early Packet Pick-Up: Strongly Encouraged at John Corsi State Farm Insurance, 100 Lake Road, Belton.

• Date/Times: Thursday, October 1st, 6-8pm: Friday, October 2nd, 8:30 am to 12:30 pm
• Race Day: Registration and packet pick-up from 7:00 a.m.-7:45 a.m.
• Payment: Registration on personal devices (phone, iPad): credit cards only
• Roadblocks: Set in place at 8:15am for protection of runners and walkers

Race Day Schedule

• Opening Ceremony: Begins at 8:15am
• Run/Walk Start Time: 8:30am
• Strollers: Welcome!
• Event held: Rain or shine. No Refunds.
