NCYMCA's Pie Run

Race Overview

Each year, the Newport County YMCA hosts the annual Pie Run on Thanksgiving Day. This USATF sanctioned race, originally founded in 1985 by the Newport Running Club, collects food donations for the MLK Community Center as well as raises necessary funds for the Y's Community Support Campaign. Typically, this beloved annual event draws over 2,000 walkers and runners who gather at the Newport County YMCA parking lot. This year, the Y is again offering a LIVE/IN-PERSON or VIRTUAL option, opening the event so that ALL members of our Y community can participate in a way that works for them!

Registration Information

• Registration Deadline: November 1st to guarantee your Pie Run t-shirt!
• No On-Site Registration: REGISTER ONLINE or ON YOUR DEVICE up to 7:45am on 11/28/24

Race Details

• Chip Timing: 5 Mile race is chip timed
• Non-Timed Race: 3 Mile race is NOT timed
• Race Start Time: Race begins at 8:30am
• Arrival Time: Arrive for race by 7:15am if you have NOT already picked up your bib
• Arrival Time: Arrive for race by 7:45am if you have ALREADY picked up your bib during one of the designated times
• Course Features: Dog & stroller friendly
• Facilities: Parking and restrooms will be available

Donation Details

Donations will be collected at Bib Pickup for non-perishable food donations for the MLK Center as well as coat donations for area organizations in need. The Coat Drive is presented and run by the Island Interact Leadership Club sponsored by the local Rotary Club and NCYMCA.

Bib Pickup Information

• Monday, 11/24: 12pm-4pm
• Tuesday, 11/25: 11am - 5pm
• Wednesday, 11/26: 9am - 4pm
