Type of Event

• Bicycle rides: Not races, out to Cherry Lake and back, all on pavement.
• “A” Ride (Short): Tuolumne to Reed Creek (just to the east, at 1N04 and 3N01) and back (45 miles).
• “B” Ride (Long): Tuolumne to Cherry Lake and back including loop south to Cherry Oil Rd (74 miles).
• Possible Side Trip: Up to near the end of pavement on Niagara Creek Rd (add 14 miles).

Nearly all of the route is on Forest Service Roads: Cottonwood Road (1N04), 3N01 (through Skunk Hollow), Cherry Oil Road 1N07, and up 3N01 (Niagara Creek). Other roads will be Tuolumne County roads (Bay St, Carter St, and Buchanan Road).

Support

• Support Vehicles: Three support vehicles with bike racks, water, and first aid supplies.
• Rest Stops: Three rest and refreshment stops along the way.
• Main Stop: At Reed Creek: other stops at Cherry Lake Boat Ramp and at the intersection of 1N04 and 3N07.
• Facilities: 10x10’ pop up canopy, table, and chairs at each stop: single unit toilet building at Boat Ramp, and portable toilets at other stops.

Traffic and Conduct

• Route Traffic: Mostly little traveled, except Buchanan Road down to River Ranch: may have hunters parked along the route.
• Safety Rules: Riders must stay to the right as per CVC rules.
• Helmet Requirement: Helmets are mandatory for all riders.
• Rider Limit: Anticipating no more than 50 riders in the first year.

Organizers

Velo Promo LLC and the Golden Chain Cyclists. Robert Leibold, head of both organizations, will be the ride director and has a long history of conducting recreational rides and road races.
