Día de los Muertos - Candles & Calacas 5K Fun Run/Walk

Event Overview

Join us for IEV's annual Fun Race. This year, the theme is Día de Los Muertos - a joyful tradition of remembering and honoring the people we love.

• Date: Sunday, November 1, 2026
• Location: Michigan State University Hubbard/Akers Courtyard.

Collaboration and Purpose

This friendly fun run/walk is a collaboration between the International Engagement Volunteers (IEV) and the International Engagement in Mexico (IEM) education abroad program. Proceeds from the event will support service-learning projects carried out by Michigan State University students through IEV.

Registration Details

• Deadline: Register by October 16, 2026, to guarantee your event T-shirt on race day.
• Finisher Medals: The first 100 finishers will receive a race medal.
• Virtual Participation: Can’t join us in person? You can still participate in our virtual race! We’ll provide your T-shirt and medal. Just make sure to register under the virtual 5K race.

Special Instructions

MSU students: please bring your Student ID to check in. Children under the age of 15: please register under ALL Students ($25).
