Event Overview
- Gravel Roads: Get ready for some of the best gravel roads in the Southeast!
- Forest Terrain: The Desoto National Forest features a vast road network and challenging Ragland Hills.
- Course Length: Riders can choose courses ranging from 30 miles to a full 100 miles.
- Terrain Variety: Experience very little pavement: the gravel varies from hardpacked to loose rock.
Start/Finish Location
- Location: Intersection of Highway 29 & FS 312 just South of New Augusta.
- Parking: Ample parking available.
- Camping: Overnight dispersed camping is permitted in the Desoto National Forest.
- Gravel Racing: We aim to return to the roots of gravel racing.
Course Overview
- Counties Crossed: 100-mile riders will pass through Perry, Greene, and Forrest counties.
- Natural Areas: Participants will enjoy the Leaf River Wildlife Management Area and Camp Shelby.
- Wildlife Encounters: Expect to see deer, turkeys, wild hogs, and Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnakes.
- Elevation Gains: 100-mile course includes approximately 4,500' of climbing with 100K at 2,800' gain.
Assistance and Aid Stations
- Multiple Stations: Riders will find aid stations along their routes with water and snacks.
- 100 Mile: Aid at Mile 15, Mile 40, Mile 55, Mile 75.
- 100K: Aid at Mile 15, Mile 40.
- 50K: Aid at Mile 15, Mile 25.
Additional Information
- Drop Bags: Two drop bag opportunities for 100 milers, one for 100K.
- Awards: Given to the top three riders in each category.
- Time Limit: 12-hour time cut-off for 100 mile and 100K riders.
- Results/Timing: Chip timed with results updated throughout the day.
Race Support
- SAG Responsibilities: Riders must carry tools for basic bike repair.
- Emergency Contacts: Phone numbers on the back of each bib: call 911 for emergencies.
- Race Directors: Organized by South Mississippi Trail Alliance and Hub City Velo.
- Community Support: Proceeds will support local cycling and recreation-related causes.
