3rd Annual Clean Atoms for Healthy Cells 5K

Event Overview

The 3rd Annual Clean Atoms for Healthy Cells 5K Walk & Run and 1K Kids Fun Run is hosted by the American Nuclear Society - Mississippi Section (ANS-MS) and supported by Entergy, US Women in Nuclear (US-WIN), North American Young Generation in Nuclear (NAYGN), and the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE). It will help raise awareness about the benefits of nuclear energy to improve our environment.

Purpose

• Fund Allocation: 100% of the registration fees and any additional donations collected go directly towards a scholarship fund.
• Target Group: The fund supports deserving graduating high school senior students.
• Field of Study: Focus areas include science, technology, business or policy related to nuclear energy.
• Academic Support: Scholarships are applicable for students attending a 4-year or 2-year academic institution of higher learning.

Art Competition

• Participants: A nuclear energy-themed art competition is held for 3rd - 5th graders at North Jackson Elementary School.
• T-Shirt Design: Students create a unique design for event T-shirts.
• Recognition: All registrants receive the special edition T-shirt featuring the winning student's artwork.
• Display: Students' artwork will be on display at the event and on the ANS-MS website.

Registration Benefits

One low registration fee supports the elementary school art competition, the high school scholarship fund and raises awareness about the benefits of nuclear energy.
