Ever wondered what it's like to run alongside an active runway? Here's your chance. The SRQ 5k on the Runway brings runners, joggers, walkers, and aviation enthusiasts together for a one-of-a-kind race along the service roads bordering the taxiways and runway at Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport. Watch aircraft land and take off just yards away as you make your way to the finish line, a view you'll never get on a typical racecourse.

Space is limited. The race is capped at 350 participants and is expected to sell out. ALL participants will receive a custom design aviation-themed finisher medal.

Race Amenities:

1. Electronically timed 5K with awards by age group
2. Custom designed aviation-themed finisher medal for ALL participants
3. Free parking at 814 Clyde Jones Road
4. Up-close views of departing and arriving aircraft
5. Kids' Aviator Tot Trot Fun Run for participants ages 9 and under.
6. Aviation costume contest: participants are encouraged to dress in an aviation themed costume such as a pilot, flight attendant, or airplane marshaller, etc.

EVENT DETAILS

Course: Participants will run along service roads bordering the airport's active taxiways and runway. For safety  and so the airport can remain operational during the event, runners will not be on the runway or taxiway surfaces themselves, but you'll get an up-close view of the action as planes land and depart throughout the race.

Beneficiaries: We're proud to announce that all proceeds will benefit two well-deserving non-profit organization - K9s UNITED and EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association), Chapter 180. Visit their websites at K9s UNITED  and EAA Chapter at SRQ to learn more about their work.

Sponsorship Opportunities: Sponsorship packages are available.
