Race Overview

The River's Edge Endurance Challenge will take place on September 27, 2025, at Brunswick Middle School, Brunswick, MD.

Registration Information:

T-Shirt: To be sure you get a T-Shirt you must Register before 9/3/2025. If you register after 9/3/2025 11:59PM you may not get the size you want or even a shirt at all.
Race Medals: Race Medals must be ordered ahead of time. Those who register after 8/15/2024 may not get a medal due to limited supplies.
Sign Up: Simply sign up for an in-person race, show up at race, check in and race in our 7th Annual River's Edge Endurance Challenge!
New Feature: We've changed our 5-mile race to a 5K (3.1 Mile) race! The whole race is on the River's Edge Trail system!

Race Details

There will be a 3-hour challenge and a 6-hour challenge which remain the same, using a 5-mile loop. How many 5-mile loops can you do in 3 or 6 hours?

You can practice half of the course now at the River's Edge Trail System. We have River's Edge Endurance Challenge (REEC) signs with arrows showing the course direction ONLY on the River's Edge Trail System.

Event Schedule

Pre-Register: Pre-Register now to save or in-person Race Sign in for all races is from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM on Saturday, September 27, 2025.
Gift Drawing: Random drawings for free gifts is at 7:45 AM.
Race Start Times: 3-Hour and 6-Hour Challenges start at 8 a.m.: 5K starts at 8:30 a.m.

Location & Course Description

Location: In-person, the lower practice fields in between Brunswick High School and Brunswick Middle School.
Course: All races feature about 1 mile on school property with the rest being on the River's Edge Trail system. Both 5K and 5-mile loops are well marked.

Entrance Fee

5K (3.1 miles): $35
3-HOUR Run: $50
6-HOUR Run: $60
Non-Profit: 100% of the race fees goes towards shirts, medals, race support items, and supports Brunswick High School Track.

Online Registration

Online registration is open through September 27, 2025, up to race sign-in deadline at 8:00 AM. All pre-registered participants will receive a Shirt, unique REEC Finisher medal, and other giveaways on race day.

Prizes

Gift Cards will be awarded via random drawing--two gift certificates per race!

Sponsor Information

The River's Edge Endurance Challenge is sponsored by the Brunswick High School Athletic Boosters, a nonprofit 501(c)(3), and serves as a fundraiser for the Brunswick High School Track and Field program. All funds raised will be dedicated to essential equipment purchases not funded by Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS). Donations and registration fees are fully tax deductible.
