- Permission Required: On 4/12/26, the race director was informed that the property owner of the slate mound has not granted permission to use the area for the race this year.
- Registration Suspended: Registration has been suspended until 5/23/26 until an alternative route can be determined and approved by the Slickville Centennial Committee.

🎉 Event Details
- Community Celebration: Join us during the 2026 Slickville Community Days celebration!
- Course Description: The August 8th 5k race is a challenging backcountry route with several hills leading to the "coal mine climb" up the slate mound.
- 2-Mile Walk: A much gentler course through town for the first half, returning on the Westmoreland Heritage Trail.
- Sports Shirt: Be sure to sign up early to guarantee receipt of an event sports shirt in your preferred size.
🥞 Pancake Breakfast
- Complimentary Meal: After completing the run/walk, all participants will enjoy a complimentary pancake breakfast.
- Local Sourcing: Breakfast will feature locally sourced genuine maple syrup courtesy of the Slickville Community Church and Maple Lodge.
- Nutrition: Perfect way to refuel after the race!
- Enjoy Together: Gather with fellow participants for this delightful meal.
⌚ Schedule
- Registration Time: Open on race day from 7:00 AM to 8:15 AM.
- Race Start: The run/walk begins at 8:30 AM.
- Awards Ceremony: Will follow around 9:30 AM.
