Summit Metro Parks Mother's Day 5K

Race Overview

Run, jog or walk to celebrate mom during this annual 5K from the Summit Metro Parks. The stroller-friendly course for this chip-timed race travels twice around the scenic Munroe Falls Lake. Race proceeds benefit the Summit Metro Parks Foundation.

Course Information

• Park Access: Because the course overlays the park entrance/exit road, the park’s entrance gate will close at 7:50 a.m. and will be re-opened by park police after participants clear the second lap.
• Registration Benefits: A choice of a race t-shirt or native tree sapling is included with each paid registration, including the 14 & under kids’ category, while supplies last. Register early to ensure availability.
• Weather Policy: The event is held rain or shine. Refunds are available through May 1, 2026, but not after.
• Accessibility: The course is not fully ADA-compliant, but wheelchair participants and jogging strollers are welcome. Contact the race in advance if using an adaptive device.

Packet Pickup

• Pre-Race Pickup: Available on Saturday, May 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at F.A. Seiberling Nature Realm (1828 Smith Rd., Akron).
• Race Day Pickup: Starts at 7 a.m. the morning of the race.

Registration and Fees

• Kids Registration: For ages 14 and under, registration is $10 through race day (the discount is applied at checkout).
• Adult Registration: For ages 15 and older, registration is tiered by date:
• $20: Through January 14
• $25: From January 15 through March 14
• $30: From March 15 through April 14
• $35: From April 15 through race day
• Morning Registration: Participants may register on the morning of the race but will only be able to do so online (no cash accepted).

Rules

• Course Restrictions: Wagons, bikes, scooters, rollerblades, and motorized vehicles are not permitted on the course.
• Pet Policy: Pet spectators (on leashes, 8-foot max) are welcome, but not allowed on the course.
• Participant Eligibility: Anyone on the course over the age of 5 years must be a registered participant with a race bib.
• Award Eligibility: Only registered participants with race bibs are eligible for finisher awards.

Awards

• Age Group Awards: The top male and female (1st and 2nd place finishers) for each age group are awarded their name engraved in the Munroe Falls Mother’s Day 5K brick paver walkway.
• Overall Awards: The overall top male and female (1st and 2nd place finishers) are awarded their name engraved in the Munroe Falls Mother’s Day 5K brick walkway as well as an engraved top finisher brick paver to take home.
