Summit Metro Parks Mother's Day 5K

Race Overview

Run, jog or walk to celebrate mom during this annual 5K from the Summit Metro Parks. The stroller-friendly course for this chip-timed race travels twice around the scenic Munroe Falls Lake. Race proceeds benefit the Summit Metro Parks Foundation.

Course Information

• Entrance Gate: The park’s entrance gate will close at 7:50 a.m.
• Reopening: The gate will be reopened by park rangers after participants clear the second lap.
• Surface: The course surface is asphalt.
• ADA Compliance: The course is not fully ADA-compliant, but wheelchair participants and jogging strollers are welcome.

Registration Details

• Kids Registration: For ages 14 and under, registration is $10 through race day.
• Adult Registration: For ages 15 and older, registration is tiered by date.
• Pricing:
  • $20/person through January 14
  • $25/person from January 15 through March 14
  • $30/person from March 15 through April 14
  • $35/person from April 15 through race day
• Morning Registration: Participants may register on the morning of the race online only (no cash accepted).

Packet Pickup

• Pre-race Pickup: Available on Saturday, May 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at F.A. Seiberling Nature Realm (1828 Smith Rd., Akron).
• Race Day Pickup: Starts at 7 a.m. the morning of the race.

Rules of Participation

• Prohibited Items: Wagons, bikes, scooters, rollerblades, and motorized vehicles are not permitted on the course.
• Pets: Pet spectators (on leashes, 8-foot max) are welcome but not allowed on the course.
• Participation: Anyone on the course over the age of 5 years must be a registered participant with a race bib.
• Awards Eligibility: Only registered participants with race bibs are eligible for finisher awards.

Awards

• Top Finishers: The top male and female (1st and 2nd place finishers) for each age group will have their name engraved in the Munroe Falls Mother’s Day 5K brick paver walkway.
• Overall Winners: The overall top male and female (1st and 2nd place finishers) will also have their name engraved in the walkway and will receive an engraved top finisher brick paver to take home.

Event Details

The event is held rain or shine. Refunds are available through May 1, 2025, but not after. If you plan to use an adaptive device on the course, please contact the race in advance.
