The Huntley Historical Society - Sew Hop'd Beer Mile

Event Overview

• Event type: Four 1/4 mile laps where runners drink a 12-ounce beer before each lap (drink, run, drink, run, drink, run, drink, run).
• Requirements: Must drink beer provided by the event.
• Participant limit: Heats of no more than 16 participants will start every 30 minutes.
• Beneficiary: Event benefits The Huntley Historical Society.

• Date: July 25, 2026
• Time: Packet Pickup starts at 1 PM.
• Location: 1 Union Special Plaza, Huntley, IL.

Heat Schedule

• Relay Teams: First heat at 2 PM, second heat at 2:30 PM, sign up when you check in.
• Individual Heats: 3 PM and 3:30 PM, sign up when you check in.
• Registration Prices: After July 20: $75 for Beer Mile, $55 for Relay.
• T-shirt Availability: If you sign up after July 7, we cannot guarantee you will get a t-shirt, we will do our best to get you one in the correct size.

Registration Includes

• Participants will receive: T-shirt, Custom Bib, Beer Glass.
• Finisher's Medal: Medal for all finishers.
• Timing: Chip timing provided for accurate results.
• Pictures: Photos taken during the event.

Additional Information

• Food and Entertainment: Food Trucks on site from 11 AM to 8 PM, Live Music from 6 PM to 8 PM.
• Family Friendly: Bring the family and a lawn chair, hang out and have fun!
• Raffles: Enter for a chance to win exciting prizes.
• Age Requirement: Must be 21 years of age on event date to participate in the beer mile.

• Weather: The Beer Mile will be held RAIN OR SHINE!
• Course: A quarter mile loop on a paved parking lot.
• Awards: Top 3 Male and Top 3 Female, Age Group Awards, Male and Female DFL (Dead Freaking Last) Beer Mile, Top 3 Relay Teams and DFL.
