The Huntley Historical Society - Sew Hop'd Beer Mile

Event Overview

• Date: July 24, 2027
• Location: 1 Union Special Plaza, Huntley, IL
• Details: Four 1/4 mile laps, runners drink a 12 ounce beer before each lap. Must drink beer provided by event. NA Beer is available.
• Relay Option: Get your friends and run the relay! Four team members, each drinks a 12 ounce beer and runs 1 lap.

Heats and Schedule

• Participants: Heats of no more than 16 participants will start every 30 minutes.
• Relay Heats: The Beer Mile will start with the first Relay Team Heat at 2 pm.
• Individual Heats: Individual Beer Mile Heats will be at 3 pm and 3:30 pm.
• Registration Prices: After July 20: $75 for Beer Mile, $55 for Relay.

Event Benefits

• Supported By: Event benefits The Huntley Historical Society.
• Raffle Entry: All beer milers will be automatically entered in a raffle for gift baskets from Rookies and Sew Hop'd.
• RAIN OR SHINE: The event will occur regardless of weather conditions.
• Food Trucks: Food trucks will be on site from 11 am to 8 pm, with live music from 6 PM to 8 PM.

Awards and Registration Perks

• Registration Includes: T-Shirt, Custom Bib, Beer Glass, Finishers Medal, Chip Timing, Pictures.
• Awards: Top 3 Male and Top 3 Female, Age Group Awards, Male and Female DFL (Dead Freaking Last) Beer Mile.
• Relay Awards: Top 3 Relay Teams and DFL.
• Packet Pickup: Saturday, July 25th, starts at 1 PM.

Important Notes

• Age Requirement: MUST BE 21 Years of age on Event Date to participate in the beer mile.
• Course: A quarter mile loop on a paved parking lot.
• New for 2026: Sign up for both the Full Beer Mile and the Relay Mile (same transaction) to save $10.
• Sign Up Deadline: If you sign up after July 4, we cannot guarantee you will get a t-shirt.
