57th annual Thornton Turkey Trot. Illinois' oldest Turkey Trot!
Event Details
- Date: November 27, 2025
- Location: 183rd and Cottage Grove Ave, Glenwood, IL
- Packet Pickup: November 26th from noon to 6 PM at Running for Kicks.
- Packet Pickup Start Time: 8:00 AM
Race Schedule
- 9:00 AM: 1 Mile Kids Run (8th grade and younger) & 1 Mile community walk
- 9:30 AM: Community 5k
- Course Map: 5k Course Map
- History: Started in 1968, this race brings out the best runners in the south suburbs.
Team Competition
- Eligibility: High School Team competition.
- Requirements: Only 3 athletes from a school needed to be awarded team points.
- Categories: Boys & girls, no co-ed competition.
- Participation: Join the hundreds of runners who have conquered this course!
Beneficiary
- Proceeds: Benefit the Winged Foot Foundation.
- Non-Profit: 501 C 3 charitable organization created for charitable purposes.
- Goal: Assist student athletes in the Chicago area with equipment and programs.

Awards
- Finishers: All finishers will receive a medal.
- Awards: Top three in each age group for males and females.
- Age Groups: 14 & Under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79 and 80 & Older.
