🍺 Chicago Beer Mile Championships

The Chicago Beer Mile will take place on Friday June 6th, 2025, at 721 S. Washtinaw Ave., Chicago, IL.

🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

• Event Type: A one-mile fun run for runners who enjoy beers.
• Format: Drink a beer, run/walk/jog a quarter mile, and repeat three more times.
• Alternatives: Opportunities for non-beer drinkers with a Chocolate Milk Mile and a Non Alcoholic Beer Mile.
• Volunteer Info: Volunteers are also needed.

🕕 Schedule of Events

• 6:00 PM: Women's Beer Mile
• 6:30 PM: Men's Beer Mile Section 1
• 6:55 PM: Men's Beer Mile Section 2
• 7:20 PM: Co-Ed Non Alcoholic Beer Mile
• 7:45 PM: Elite Women Beer Mile
• 8:10 PM: Elite Men Beer Mile

💰 Prizes

• Top Finishers: Prize money for the top three men and women.
• Prize Money: $500 for 1st place, $250 for 2nd place, and $100 for 3rd place.
• Elite Section: Must compete in the elite section to be eligible for prize money.
• Entry Request: Email bob@ilpreptoptiming.com to request entry into the elite heat.

📜 Official Race Rules

1. Each competitor drinks four cans or bottles of beer and runs four laps around a 400m track.
2. Beer must be consumed before running each lap in the transition area.
3. Women also drink four beers and run four laps.
4. Competitors must drink beer of at least 355mL with a minimum of 5% alcohol by volume.
5. No specialized cans or bottles may be used to aid in pouring beer.
6. Competitors who vomit must complete one penalty lap after the race.
7. Video evidence is recommended for official records.

🎉 Age Requirements

Eligibility: Every competitor MUST be over 21 years of age. Designated drivers or use of public transportation is highly encouraged. Identification will be checked at packet pickup.
