Tomato Trot 5k

🍅 Event Overview

• What: Join us for the 7th Annual Tomato Trot! This community run/walk benefits local organizations making a difference in the Susquehanna Valley.
• Beneficiary: This year, all proceeds will support WGRC Christian Radio Station and Salt and Light Ministries.
• Purpose: WGRC provides uplifting radio programming with Contemporary Christian Music and short programs that foster spiritual growth and help build stronger connections within the community and families.
• Location: The race will begin and end in the parking lot of the Furmano Foods plant in Northumberland, 770 Cannery Road (GPS Address: please use 815 Cannery Road).

🏃‍♂️ Race Details

• Timing: The 5K will be chip-timed by Falcon Race Timing.
• Weather: This is a rain or shine event, so come prepared!
• Family-Friendly: This event is perfect for people of all ages and abilities, with fun activities for kids during the race.
• Challenge: Can YOU beat the Tomato? Participants will have the chance to race against our running Tomato for bragging rights!

👕 Registration and T-Shirts

• Early Registration: Pre-register early to receive a free event t-shirt if you register by April 12!
• Availability: Some t-shirts will also be available for purchase at the event.
• Awards: Cash prize awards will be given to the top 3 overall finishers (male and female).
• Fun Run: The Kids’ Fun Run will occur following the 5K and is free to all kids who would like to participate.

🏞️ Course Information

• Type: Out and back course in scenic rolling countryside.
• Refreshments: Refreshments will be available after the race for all participants.

⏰ Schedule of Events

• 8:30-9:45 AM: Registration/Packet Pick-up
• 10:00 AM: 5K Run/Walk Start
• 10:50 AM: Kids’ Fun Run Start
• 11:00 AM: Awards Ceremony

🏆 Awards

• Overall Finishers: Top 3 overall finishers (male and female).

👶 Age Groups

• Male: 12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
• Female: 12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
• Note: No duplication of awards.
