What is a Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk?

• Description: The Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001.
• Purpose: Honor all of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 and support our first responders and military who make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of duty!

• Community Event: This will be the 6th Tunnel to Towers 5K event in Bluffton, bringing together the community to honor first responders, remember 9/11, and raise funds for the Tunnel to Towers programs.

How far is a Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk?

• Distance: This is a 5K (3.1 miles) to walk or run this event.
• Participation: Anyone can run, walk, or experience this event.

Where can I pick up my packet?

• Location: Palmetto Running Company - 25 Minetta Lane Suite 102 Bluffton SC 29910.
• Date: Saturday, November 7th from 12pm-4pm.
• Shirt Availability: Please note that shirts and shirt sizes are not guaranteed and are first come, first serve.

Can I register the day of the run?

• Registration: Yes, however, registration costs will increase by $5 on race day and your run will not be timed.
• Shirt Guarantee: If you aren’t registered by October 25th, we cannot guarantee a shirt for you.
• Timing: IF YOU ARE NOT REGISTERED BY 11:59PM on Thursday, November 5th, you will NOT be TIMED!

When does online registration close?

• Status: It will remain open.
• Guarantee: We do not guarantee timing chips, T-shirts or any race day swag for late registrants.

Do I have to wear my bib number?

• Visibility: Yes, please display your bib on the front of your outermost garment.
• Course Policy: Those who run without a bib will be asked to leave the course and will not be allowed to finish.

I am a fast runner. Can I get a front line position?

• Corral Placement: Runners predicting a pace faster than 6 minute/mile will be seeded in the front corral (arrive early).
• First Responders: Please note we have First Responders line up in the front to kick off the event to honor those that serve our country.

Will there be awards for running?

• Award Structure: Yes, we keep them very simple since our mission is to honor first responders.
• Categories: Most of our awards are based on firefighters, police or military running in gear in the same fashion that Stephen Siller did on 9/11.
• Experience: This event is intended to be an experience and much more than a run.
• Awards: Awards will be given to the top three overall Male/Female.

Will water be available?

• Water Station: Yes, there will be a water station at the half-way mark.

What can you bring to the event?

• Permitted Items: Strollers and wheelchairs are permitted. Firefighter turnout gear and military backpacks are also permitted.
• Personal Items: Please leave all personal items and valuables in your vehicle. All items should be stored securely at the owner's risk.
• Liability: Tunnel to Towers Foundation will not be responsible for the loss of any items.

Does my registration fee count towards my fundraising goal?

• Fee Status: Your registration fee does not count toward the fundraising goal.

Can someone else pick up my packet for me?

• Packet Pick-Up: Yes, they can. They must present a copy of your registration receipt.
• Gratitude: And don't forget to thank them!

Can I still donate to a team and/or individual after the start of the race?

• Donation Policy: Yes. Donations will be accepted for 6 weeks after the event.

How can my company/organization sponsor this event?

• Contact: Please send all sponsorship correspondence to bluffton@t2t.org with your contact information.

I would like to donate goods or services to this event. How do I do that?

• Contact: You can contact us at bluffton@t2t.org.
• Goal: We make every effort to keep costs down to allow us to give the most to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation in Stephen Siller's name.

As a participant, can I fundraise/encourage others to donate?

• Fundraising Page: Yes! Once you are registered, you will be given directions to start your own fundraising page.
• Donations: You will be able to accept donations online. Contact us at bluffton@t2t.org for assistance.

Can I transfer my registration to another participant?

• Transfer Process: Yes. See information above OR contact us at bluffton@t2t.org and we will manually change it in our system.

Can I get a refund?

• Refund Policy: We do not provide refunds for the event regardless if you cannot make the date or the foundation needs to cancel the event for extenuating circumstances.
• Registration Transfer: Registration may be transferred to another person.

How can I volunteer?

• Volunteer Needs: Volunteers are always needed for the day of festivities. Thank you!

Do registrants get receipts?

• Receipt Information: When you register online you should automatically receive a receipt.
