🏃‍♂️ What is a Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk?

• Purpose: The Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001 after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers.
• Honoring Heroes: Honor all of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 and support our first responders and military who make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of duty!

• Community Engagement: We are excited to once again bring together the community to honor first responders, remember 9/11, and raise funds for the Tunnel to Towers programs.

📏 How far is a Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk?

• Distance: This is a 5K (3.1 miles) event to walk or run.
• Participation: Anyone can run, walk, or experience this event.
• Inclusivity: All are welcome to join the event and support the cause.

📦 Where can I pick up my packet?

• Location 1: Saturday, May 16, 10 AM - 4 PM at Fleet Feet Columbus, 1270 E Powell Rd, Lewis Center 43035.
• Location 2: Sunday, May 17, 7 AM until race start at Westerville Sports Complex.
• Details: Ensure you pick up your packet during these times for a smooth race day experience.

✍️ Can I register the day of the run?

• Yes: Registration remains open until the start of the run.
• Fees: Those who wait to register on day of will pay an additional $10.
• T-shirt Availability: We may not have a t-shirt available, and cannot guarantee sizes for late registrants.

📅 When does online registration close?

• Status: Online registration will remain open until the start of the run.

🎟️ Do I have to wear my bib number?

• Bib Requirement: Yes, please display your bib on the front of your outermost garment.
• Course Policy: Those who run without a bib will be asked to leave the course and will not be allowed to finish.

🏅 Will there be awards for running?

• Award Criteria: Most of our awards are based on firefighters, police or military running in gear, similar to Stephen Siller on 9/11.
• Experience Focus: This event is intended to be an experience and much more than a run.

💧 Will water be available?

• Water Stations: Yes, a water station will be available along the route.
• Additional Water: There will be water available at the square.

🛒 What can you bring to the event?

• Permitted Items: Firefighter turnout gear and military backpacks are permitted.
• Strollers and Wheelchairs: These will start at the back of the runners and first responders.
• Storage Policy: Please leave all personal items and valuables in your vehicle, stored securely at the owner's risk.
• Responsibility: Tunnel to Towers Foundation will not be responsible for the loss of any items.

💵 Does my registration fee count towards my fundraising goal?

• Fee Status: Your registration fee does not count toward the fundraising goal.

📄 Can someone else pick up my packet for me?

• Proxy Pickup: Yes, they can, but they must present a copy of your registration receipt.
• Gratitude: Don’t forget to thank them!

💌 Can I still donate to a team and/or individual after the start of the race?

• Donation Policy: Yes, donations will be accepted after the event.

🤝 How can my company/organization sponsor this event?

• Contact Us: Please send all sponsorship correspondence to westerville@:t2t.org with your contact information.
• Response Time: Someone will be in touch with you within 24 hours.

• Accepting Donations: You will be able to accept donations online.
• Cash Donations: We can help guide you through the process.

• Transfer Policy: Yes, see information above OR contact us at westerville@:t2t.org and we will manually change it in our system.

💲 Can I get a refund?

• Refund Policy: We do not provide refunds for the event if you cannot attend.
• Transfer Option: Registration may be transferred to another person.

• Volunteering Process: Email us at westerville@:t2t.org and we will reply within 24 hours.
• Volunteer Need: Volunteers are always needed for the day of festivities.
