40th Annual Causeway Run & Fitness Walk

Scheduled for the 13th of April, 2024, the 40th Annual promises to be even bigger and better. This year's event will also follow the 6.2 mile (10K) course starting at the Port Isabel Community Center, continuing on to the Queen Isabella Causeway and over the Laguna Madre Bay and ending in front of Louie’s Backyard on South Padre Island. Awards and snacks will be held immediately following the race/walk at Louie’s Backyard on South Padre Island.

Event details and schedule

START: Causeway Run starts at 7:00 a.m. sharp at the Port Isabel Community
Center. Fitness Walk starts at the Community Center at 7:15 a.m.

EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION: $35 (10k Run); $30 (5K Walk); Students & Military
with ID $25 (10K Run or 5K Walk) before March 12, 2024. Online registration

ON SITE REGISTRATIONS/LATE REGISTRATIONS/T-SHIRT AND WALKER WRISTBAND PICK UP: After March 12, 2024, $40 (10K Run); $35 (5K Walk); $30 Students & Military with ID (10K Run or 5K Walk).

Late registration can be processed at the Port Isabel Community Center, 213 N Yturria St, Port Isabel, Texas:

or online until April 11th, at 10:00 p.m.

Wednesday ONLY, April 10th 2pm-6pm at the Weslaco Chamber of Commerce.

 

 T-SHIRTS ARE GUARANTEED TO ALL PARTICIPANTS WHO REGISTER BEFORE MARCH 12TH!!!

RACE COURSE: 10K (6.2 mi.) Starts at the Port Isabel Community Center and ends at Louie’s Backyard on South Padre Island. One major incline. Water stations at locations along course and at the finish line. Police and EMS protection is provided. The run is USA Track and Field certified: Certification #TX15006WG. (See map on reverse)

FITNESS WALK COURSE: 3 miles. This course starts at the Port Isabel Community Center and ends at the Padre Balli statue on South Padre Island. THIS IS NOT A RACE. IT IS A PARTICIPATION WALK.

ABSOLUTELY NO PETS ARE ALLOWED IN THE RUN OR WALK!

AWARDS & PRESENTATIONS:  Medals will be given to the overall 1st through 3rd male and female winners as well as 1st through 3rd place winner in each male and female age division of the 10K. Overall winners will be ineligible for awards in their respective age divisions. PARTICIPANTS CROSSING THE FINISH LINES WILL RECEIVE FINISHER MEDALS. (while supplies last) Shuttle busses will be provided.
