Virtual Ostomy 5k - Worldwide

On Saturday, October 3, 2026, let’s celebrate Ostomy Awareness Day by participating in the Virtual Run for Resilience Ostomy 5k. This marks the 12th year of our empowering Virtual 5k event!

💫 Complete the 5k Your Way

• Flexibility: Walk, run, roll, swim, pedal, or even count your steps on the journey leading up to the big day.
• Location: Whether outdoors or on a treadmill at home, the choice is yours to celebrate resilience and unity in the ostomy community.
• Community: Gather your friends, family, colleagues, or fellow ASG members to honor this milestone together.
• Support: Every step you take helps support UOAA’s vital mission. As a 501(c)(3) charity organization, your generous donations are tax deductible.

🎟️ Early Bird Registration

Register before July 31st at midnight EST and Save! Plus, you will also receive your 2026 Ostomy 5k T-shirt early (mid-August).

👕 Registration Information

• Inclusions: Registration includes a unisex adult or youth size T-Shirt and Bib. Be sure to register before Friday, September 4th at midnight EST to guarantee your size.
• Bib-Only Registrations: Those who register before Noon on Friday, September 25th will receive their 2026 Ostomy Awareness Day & Run for Resilience Ostomy 5k bib in the mail (USPS).
• Post Deadline: If you register after this time, your Bib will be e-mailed to you.

👥 Create or Join a Race Group/Team!

Once you’ve registered you also have the option to create a new RACE GROUP/TEAM or to JOIN one that’s already been established. This is a great way to get others in your community to register to participate in the run and compete against each other.

💵 Fundraising

• Goal: Fundraising is an important aspect of our Run for Resilience Ostomy 5K. Funds raised help UOAA continue to provide resources, educational materials, advocacy, and support to the ostomy and continent diversion community.
• Refund: Raise $150 or more and your Registration Fee will be refunded!
• Setup: We invite you to set up your own Personal or Team Fundraiser when registering to participate in the event.

🏅 Fundraising Incentives

• Empower Level: Fundraise $250+ to receive a fundraising award (TBA).
• Champion Level: Fundraise $450+ to receive a fundraising award (TBA).
• Combination: Champion level fundraisers will also receive the Empower level fundraising award.

United Ostomy Associations of America (UOAA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports, empowers and advocates for the estimated 725,000 to 1 Million people who are living with an ostomy or continent diversion across the country.

🎉 Celebrate the Day!

• Event Choice: Run, walk, roll or pedal a 5k (3.1 miles) route of your choice near you.
• Community Involvement: Share your success! Take pictures of yourself during your virtual race and share them with us.
• Award Awareness: Promote ostomy awareness to your family, friends, and community on Ostomy Awareness Day.
• Social Media: Use the hashtags #RunforResilience, #Ostomy5k, and #OstomyAwareness.

Event Registration Protection is now available for participants! For just a few dollars at checkout, you can add coverage to your registration and receive a refund if you’re unable to attend due to a qualifying reason.
