On Saturday, October 3, 2026, let’s celebrate Ostomy Awareness Day by participating in the Virtual Run for Resilience Ostomy 5k. This marks the 12th year of our empowering Virtual 5k event!

Complete the 5k Your Way

• Choice: Walk, run, roll, swim, pedal, or count your steps on the journey leading up to the big day.
• Environment: Whether outdoors or on a treadmill at home, the choice is yours.
• Community: Gather your friends, family, colleagues, or fellow ASG members to honor this milestone together.
• Support: Every step you take helps support UOAA’s vital mission. As a 501(c)(3) charity organization, your generous donations are tax deductible.

Registration Information

• Early Bird Registration: Register before July 31st at midnight EST and save. You'll also receive your 2026 Ostomy 5k T-shirt early (mid-August).
• Registration Includes: A unisex adult or youth size T-Shirt and Bib. Register before September 4th at midnight EST to guarantee your size.
• Bib-Only Registrations: Those who register before Noon on September 25th will receive their bib in the mail (USPS).
• Post-Deadline Bibs: If you register after this time, your Bib will be emailed to you.

Create or Join a Race Group/Team!

Once you’ve registered, you have the option to create a new race group/team or join one that’s already been established. This is a great way to get others in your community to register to participate in the run and compete against each other. Invite family, friends, and co-workers to join your group!

Fundraising

• Fundraising Goals: Raise $150 or more and your registration fee will be refunded!
• Support: Funds raised help UOAA to provide resources, educational materials, advocacy, and support.
• Personal Fundraisers: Set up your own Personal or Team Fundraiser or through our donate button.
• Fundraiser Options: Create a unique Fundraiser Name and URL, personalize your message, and direct friends and family to join your team.

Fundraising Incentives

• Empower Level: $250+ in fundraising individually or as a Team Captain. Fundraising award: TBA.
• Champion Level: $450+ in fundraising individually or as a Team Captain. Fundraising award: TBA.
• Combining Levels: Champion fundraisers will also receive the Empower level fundraising award.
• Appreciation: Your commitment to fundraising is vital for supporting the ostomy and continent diversion community.

Donations

United Ostomy Associations of America (UOAA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization supporting and advocating for people living with an ostomy. Your generous donation helps to raise awareness and continue our mission. To donate or start a fundraising team, click on the "DONATE" Button at the top of this page.

Run Referral Program

Invite 5 other people to register and participate in the run with you, and you will be refunded $20 on your registration! Share your unique referral link found on your registration confirmation page. The referral program is valid for all in-person run locations and the virtual event.

Celebrate the Day!

• 5k Options: Run, walk, roll, or pedal a 5k route of your choice near you.
• Capture Moments: Take pictures of your virtual race and email them to us or tag us on social media.
• Promote Awareness: Share your experience and promote ostomy awareness in your community.
• Social Media: Hashtag your photos #RunforResilience, #Ostomy5k, and #OstomyAwareness for a chance to be featured.

Event Registration Protection is now available! For a small fee at checkout, you can add coverage to your registration and receive a refund if you’re unable to attend due to a qualifying reason. Review the policy for details on qualifying events.
