On Saturday, October 3, 2026, let’s celebrate Ostomy Awareness Day by participating in the Virtual Run for Resilience Ostomy 5k. This marks the 12th year of our empowering Virtual 5k event!

Choose Your 5k Method

• Flexibility: Complete the 5k your way—walk, run, roll, swim, pedal, or even count your steps on the journey leading up to the big day.
• Location: Whether outdoors or on a treadmill at home, the choice is yours to celebrate resilience and unity in the ostomy community.
• Community: Gather your friends, family, colleagues, or fellow ASG members to honor this milestone together.
• Support: Every step you take helps support UOAA’s vital mission. As a 501(c)(3) charity organization, your generous donations are tax deductible.

Registration Details

• Inclusions: The Registration includes a unisex adult or youth size T-Shirt and Bib.
• Deadline: Those who register before Noon on Friday, September 25th will receive their 2026 Ostomy Awareness Day & Run for Resilience Ostomy 5k bib in the mail.
• After Deadline: If you register after this time, your Bib will be e-mailed to you.

Create or Join a Race Group/Team

Once you’ve registered you also have the option to CREATE a new RACE GROUP/TEAM or to JOIN one that’s already been established. This is a great way to get others in your community to Register to Participate in the Run and compete against each other.

Fundraising Opportunities

• Importance: Fundraising is an important aspect of our Run for Resilience Ostomy 5K.
• Goal: Raise $150 or more and your Registration Fee will be refunded!
• Support: Funds raised help UOAA continue to provide resources, educational materials, advocacy and support to the ostomy and continent diversion community.
• Personal Fundraising: Set up your own Personal or Team Fundraiser when registering to participate in the event, or through our DONATE button at the top of this page.

Fundraising Incentives

• Empower Level: $225+ in fundraising individually or as a Team Captain.
• Champion Level: $425+ in fundraising individually or as a Team Captain.
• Awards: Fundraising awards to be announced (TBA).
• Combined Levels: The Champion level fundraisers will also receive the Empower level fundraising award.

United Ostomy Associations of America (UOAA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports, empowers and advocates for the estimated 725,000 to 1 Million people who are living with an ostomy or continent diversion across the country. Your generous donation helps us to raise awareness of this life-saving surgery and to continue our mission of promoting their quality of life through information, support, advocacy and collaboration. Celebrate the Day!

• Participation: Run, walk, roll or pedal a 5k (3.1 miles) route of your choice near you.
• Share: Take pictures of yourself doing your virtual race and email them to us or tag us on Facebook or Instagram.
• Awareness: Promote ostomy awareness and education to your family, friends and community on Ostomy Awareness Day.
• Hashtags: Tag your photos with #RunforResilience, #Ostomy5k and #OstomyAwareness for a chance to be shared on UOAA’s pages.
