Run For Tanzania

🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

Join us for the 4th Annual Run for Tanzania on October 25! The run is a 5K (3.3 miles to be exact) trail run or walk in beautiful Powhatan State Park on an earthen trail along the river and through the woods. The trail has rocks, roots, and hills. Difficulty is moderate. A Kid's Fun Run will take place at 8:30 am before the main race begins. The kids will run about .25 miles on a dirt and grassy path. All the kids will receive a participation medal.

• Family Fun: You're sure to have a fun time with family and friends walking or running.
• Prizes: Awards will be given to top achievers in various categories (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place male and female, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place kids, youngest and oldest 5K participants).
• Participation: Join as a runner or walker to support a great cause!
• Location: Beautiful Powhatan State Park setting enhances the experience.

📋 Event Information

• Date: The race is October 25, 2025, at 9:00 am. Kid's Fun Run is at 8:30 am.
• Location: Powhatan State Park, 4616 Powhatan State Park Road, Powhatan, VA 23139. Directions
• Starting Point: The event will begin at the Equestrian/Trailhead Lot. Directional signs will be posted.
• Parking: Parking at the State Park is $5 per vehicle.

⏱️ Race Details

• Timed Event: This is a timed and chipped race for those who are running to compete.
• Packet Pickup: Friday, October 24, from 4-6 pm at Passion Community Church in Midlothian (50 Old Otterdale Rd.). PCC Directions
• Pre-Race Pickup: Packets can also be picked up at the race before 8:45 am.
• Refreshments: There will be donuts, bananas, granola bars, and plenty of water.

📩 Additional Information

• Virtual Participation: Virtual participants will receive a t-shirt and should pick them up at the church on Friday. We will mail them to out-of-town participants.
