🐶 About the K9-5K

• Event Purpose: The K9-5K is a dog-friendly charity run that aims to raise funds and donated items for the Richmond Animal League.
• Support for Animals: The event supports animal welfare and adoptions, helping to provide homes for homeless pets.
• Community Engagement: It raises awareness for the first no-kill animal shelter in the area.
• Event Goals: The event seeks to engage the RVA community while promoting kindness to animals.

👩‍🎓 Organizer's Vision

• Organizer: I'm Leah Buckley, a senior in the Leadership Center at James River High School.
• Personal Passion: One of my greatest joys is spending time with dogs, whether training them indoors or going through agility courses together.
• Event Origin: I immediately gravitated towards the idea of organizing this event during the brainstorming process.
• Community Impact: I hope this 2025 event will be a fun experience and leave a lasting impact on the Richmond community.
