Race Overview

Come for the race, stay for the beer! Death Ridge Brewery and Verdun Adventure Bound present the 5th annual The Dead of Summer 6K. The XC course begins and ends at Death Ridge Brewery and includes a significant portion of the Verdun Adventure Bound Cross Country Course. If you keep an eye out, you might actually see some Emu and a Zebra (no, really!) as the course cuts through a neighbor's property.

• 1st Prize: One Year Membership at Death Ridge Brewery ($125 value)!
• Top Finishers: Top 3 Men and Top 3 Women will win a Beer (or age-legal beverage), on Verdun!

Race Details

• Distance: The 6K course is easy to follow and naturally flowing.
• Course Type: Varies from close cut grass to rough trail with well-groomed sections in Verdun.
• Scenic Route: Participants will experience woods, ponds, and streams (bridged).
• Approximate Distance: Note that the course distance is approximate.

Supporting Organization

This race is an introduction to the wonderful beer of Death Ridge Brewery, with all race proceeds going to support Verdun Adventure Bound. Verdun is an educational 501 (C)(3) non-profit organization with a mission to support youth and adult personal growth incorporating experiential learning and stewardship of the land on its 67-acre retreat facility. Registration Prices

• $30: Pre-registration through 11:00PM August 8th (race day).
• $35: Registration on race day at Death Ridge Brewery, located in Rixeyville.
• T-Shirt Guarantee: Race T-Shirt included for those who pre-register by July 22nd at 11:59AM.
• Extra T-Shirts: Extra shirts may be available, but not guaranteed after the cut-off date.

Awards Structure

We will have age and gender group awards as follows:

• Overall: Male: 3 places, Female: 3 places.
• Age/Sex Categories: Male: 13 and under, 14-18, 19-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 61-70, 70+.
• Age/Sex Categories: Female: 13 and under, 14-18, 19-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 61-70, 70+.
