Race Overview

• Events: The Cheyenne Mountain Run features three scenic trail races inside Cheyenne Mountain State Park.
• 25K Mountain Challenge: for advanced trail runners.
• 10K Trail Race: for experienced runners.
• 5K Run/Walk: a friendly, accessible option for all levels, including beginners.

Start Details

• Location: Limekiln Trailhead.
• Start Time: 7:00 AM (staggered start).
• Order of Races: 25K first, 10K next, 5K last.
• Timing: All races are chip timed: poles are not allowed.

25K Course Overview

• Start Elevation: 6,000 ft.
• Max Elevation: ~9,450 ft.
• Total Elevation Gain/Loss: ~3,450 ft.
• Course Route: Talon → North Talon → Dixon Trail → Mountain Loop (clockwise) → return via Dixon → North Talon → Talon. 25 K Map

Cutoff Times

• Dixon Saddle: (mile ~5.8) 8:45 AM cutoff located 2.5 miles up the Dixon Trail.
• Timing: Runners arriving after 8:45 AM will be turned around.
• Top of Dixon Aid Station: closes at 10:00 AM.
• Finish Line Timing: closes at 12:00 PM.

Aid Stations

• Locations: Talon/Sundance, Talon/North Talon, Lower Dixon Trail, Top of Dixon Trail.
• Hydration: All runners must carry their own hydration.
• Weather: Be prepared for rapid weather changes.

10K Course Overview

• Route: Out Talon Trail to the second South Talon junction.
• Loop: Counterclockwise loop on South Talon.
• Return: via Talon → Sundance → finish.
• Aid Stations: Talon/Sundance and Talon/North Talon. 10K Map

5K Course Overview

• Route: Talon → Sundance (~1.4 miles) → Turkey Trot → Talon → finish.
• Aid Station: Talon/Sundance.
• Map: 5K Map

• Purpose: This race is a fundraiser for The Friends of Cheyenne Mountain State Park, a 501 (c) 3 charitable nonprofit, and is made to celebrate and fundraise for the park we know and love.
• Safety: The safety of our participants and volunteers is our highest priority!
