Steeplechase Stampede Overview
North American Canicross presents STEEPLECHASE STAMPEDE! Come join us November 8th at the Georgia International Horse Park for our In-Person CANICROSS RACE! Held at the prestigious Georgia International Horse Park, renowned as the site of The 1996 Centennial Olympic Games, this event is not to be missed!
Race Details
- Course: 5k and 10k course is classified as a technical trail running race.
- Terrain: Participants should be prepared for uneven terrain, elevation changes, and natural features such as roots, rocks, and narrow paths.
- Water Stations: There will be 1 water / aid station on the course.
- Children: Registered children under 15 will need to run with a registered adult.
Tri-Hound Crown Challenge
TRI-HOUND CROWN!
Complete all three distances and earn the prestigious Tri-Hound title! The Tri-Hound Crown is designed as a team event between dog(s) and human. The dog you start with must be the same dog you complete the entire challenge with across all distances.
- 2-Dog Class: Competitors in the 2-Dog Tri-Hound Crown must race with two dogs in all events.
- CaniX Class: Competitors in the CaniX Tri-Hound Crown must race with one dog in all events.
- Event Order: Tri-Hound Crown Competitors will start with the 10K events. The required sequence is: 10K → 5K → Sprint.
- Competitor Rule: If you register in the 2-dog class but decide to drop a dog during the event at any distance, you will still be classified as a 2-dog competitor based on your original registration.
Event Registration
Final Results: The final time for the Tri-Hound Crown will be the combined total of all individual event finish times.
- Single Event Registration: You may register for one or two individual events, but this will not qualify you for the Tri-Hound Crown.
- Dog Flexibility: If you are interested in running with different dogs, you will need to register for each race individually.
Dog-Friendly Trail Race
New to canicross or training a pup? Join us for the Dog-Friendly Trail Race class right after the competitive canicross event!
- 5K Requirements: Less restrictive: however, face leads, flexi/retractable leashes, and no-pull harnesses are not allowed.
- Dog Limit: Limit of 2 dogs per participant at a time.
Virtual Participation
Can’t join us on race day? No problem! We’ve got a virtual option for you! Virtual racers complete the course on their own time and turf. You’ll have until November 30th to complete your run and submit your results.
- T-Shirt & Coin: Each runner will receive a logo race T-shirt and finisher challenge coin.
- Challenge Coins: Registering for multiple events? You’ll earn a challenge coin for each distance class you complete.
Canicross Requirements
- Dog Gear: All dogs running in canicross are required to wear designated canicross gear.
- Harnesses: “Y” chest bands and bungee leads must be worn.
- Class Restrictions: Only one dog can be run at a time, unless in the 2-Dog Canicross Class.
- 2-Dog Class Gear: Following IFSS rules for 2-dog class.
Rules & Regulations
No transfers, refunds or deferments allowed.
- Health Requirement: All dogs must be up to date on vaccinations and in good health.
- No Greet Policy: Dogs must be kept on a leash and controlled at all times.

- Hotel: Book your stay at LA Quinta Conyers COMING SOON.
- Camping: Available at Georgia International Horse Park.
Race Day Schedule
- Packet Pickup: Begins on-site at 6:30 AM along with race day registration.
- 10k Canicross Races: Begin at 8:00 AM.
- 5k Canicross Races: Begin at 8:15 AM.
- Sprint Races: Begin at 9:30 AM.
Awards & Prizes
Various awards will be given across different classes for top finishers, including categories for male, female, junior, and masters competitors.

Volunteers are needed! If you would like to volunteer, we will accommodate and offer free registration for participating.
