Donuts and Dogs 5K Fun Run/Walk

Event Overview

• Join us: Enjoy a fun day at Southwind Park in support of the Animal Protective League (APL).
• Race details: Timed 5K Run and a Fun Run/Walk for you and your canine companions.
• Registration: $30 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under.
• Fundraising: Set up your own individual or team fundraiser to raise additional money for the animals.

Registration Information

• Deadline: Registration closes at midnight on October 1st.
• Packet pick-up: October 2nd from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at APL, 1001 Taintor Road.
• On-site registration: Not available on race day.
• Free T-shirt: Register by May 22nd to receive one.

Dog Participation Guidelines

• Requirements: Dogs must be sociable, well-behaved, and leashed at all times.
• Vaccinations: Proof of current rabies vaccine is required.
• Age: Dogs must be at least four months of age.

Event Activities

• Costume Contest: Participate with your pet.
• Vendors: Enjoy various vendors at the event.
• Mel-O-Cream donuts: Provided before the race for all participants.

Schedule

• May 22nd: Early registration with a free T-shirt ends.
• October 1st: Registration closes at midnight.
• October 2nd: Race packet distribution from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. at APL.
• October 3rd: Race Day events start at 9:00 a.m.

Race Day Schedule

• 9:00 a.m.: Visit with our vendors. Limited race day packet distribution (no on-site registration).
• 9:30 a.m.: Costume Contest.
• 10:00 a.m.: Timed Race.
• 10:30 a.m.: Award Ceremony for Costume Contest and Timed Race.
• 11:00 a.m.: Fun Run/Walk.
• 12:00 p.m.: Event Ends.

Race Prize Categories

• Overall 1st Place 5K Female: Recognition for the top female runner.
• Overall 1st Place 5K Male: Recognition for the top male runner.
• Overall Canine: 1st canine across the finish line.
• 12 and Under: Overall 1st Place for Female and Male categories.

Costume Contest

• Best Costume: Award for the most creative costume at the event.
