TMC Earth Day 5K at Biosphere 2

• Awards: If you did not pick up your award, you can snag it at The Running Shop (3055 North Campbell) starting on Saturday afternoon at 3:00 PM.
• Shirts and Medals: Remaining t-shirts are at The Running Shop (currently, sizes large and extra large). Please bring proof of purchase if you want to snag your medal.

Event Details

• Date: April 17, 2027
• Location: Biosphere 2, 32540 S. Biosphere Road, Oracle, AZ
• Your Experience: Looking for a way to celebrate Earth Day? Join us for a 5k run and walk, entirely on the grounds of the famed facility.
• Course: The rolling 3.1 mile course features gorgeous desert and mountain views.

Post-Race Activities

• Relaxation: After the 5k, enjoy music, food, and other fun activities.
• Food Trucks: Snag some tasty post-race food for purchase.
• Children's Activities: There will be activities for kids post-race.
• Bad Weather Notice: In case of any cancellations due to bad weather, further information will be provided.

Pricing

• General Registration: $40 for the 5k includes race entry, souvenir shirt, and free Biosphere 2 entry.
• Children's Pricing: Special price of $10 for children 14-and-under, includes race entry but no shirt.
• Souvenir Shirts: Limited to the first 750 registrants.
• Timed Event: A timed 5k with finisher's video will be provided.

Explore Biosphere 2

• Living Laboratory: Explore a 3.14-acre living laboratory with diverse ecosystems.
• Informative Tours: All registrants receive free entry to informative tours.
• Self-Guided Visits: Registrants can visit on their own without a formal tour.
• Discounted Admission: Non-running guests can purchase admission for discounted rate of $10.

Charitable Contribution

• Fundraising: The event raises funds for the Ocean Reef research project.

Schedule

• Packet Pickup: April 16, 4:00 - 6:00 PM at The Running Shop, 3055 North Campbell, Tucson.
• Race Day Registration: April 17, 7:15 - 8:15 AM at Biosphere 2.
• Race Start: 8:30 AM for the TMC Earth Day 5k Run/Walk.
• Awards Ceremony: 10:00 AM, awards courtesy of The Running Shop.

Participant Guidelines

• Bring the Kids! Special $10 price for children 14-and-under in the 5k.
• Running Strollers: Welcome but be mindful of the steep hills.
• Post-Race: Kids Dash & Kids Zone activities available after the 5k.
• Pets: No pets allowed on the course.

Terrain and Conditions

• Terrain: Mostly pavement, with a brief dirt section.
• Difficulty: Hilly in sections.
• Weather: Expected temperatures between 50's - 70's.
• Accessibility: Differently Abled participants welcome, but be mindful of course conditions.
