Show your support for Moreland Hills parks by joining us on October 3rd in the heart of the Chagrin River valley for Head For The Hills 2026!

Location and Beneficiary

• Event Venue: Lang Pavilion at the 142-acre Forest Ridge Preserve.
• Nearby Attractions: Cleveland Metroparks South Chagrin Reservation, U.S. President James A. Garfield birth site park and cabin.
• Beneficiary: Non-profit Moreland Hills Parks Commission.
• Purpose: Funds support preservation and improvements of local parks.

Improvements Funded

• Last Year’s Proceeds: Surfacing and improving the Forest Ridge trails.
• Future Goals: Repair of picnic tables and landscaping improvements.
• Community Impact: Hundreds of community members visit our parks each year.
• Mission of the Parks Commission: Support enjoyment of local parks for all.

Race and Activity Details

• 5K Run: Scenic, challenging, and competitive route.
• Hiking Option: 1.5 mile self-guided hike for families.
• Participant Benefits: Commemorative shirt for those registered by September 15th.
• Activities: Free kids activities, crafts, and mini donuts available for purchase.

On-Site Care

• Provided By: NovaCare Rehabilitation.
• Services Offered: Pre-event warm-ups and post-race recovery treatments.
• Injury Assessment: Aches, pains, and acute injuries can be evaluated.
• Support: Helping participants perform their best and recover quickly.

Schedule

• 8:00 AM: Runner/Hiker registration and packet pickup.
• 8:45 AM: Chagrin River Road closes.
• 9:00 AM: 5K Run and 1.5 mile hike starts.
• 10:00 AM: 5K awards announcement.

5K run: MyLaps BibTag Chip timed.

Registration Fees

• 5K Run: $30.00 (Kids 6-15: $15.00).
• 1.5 Mile Hike: $30.00 (Kids 6-15: $15.00).
• No Registration: Required for spectators, donations appreciated.
• Free Entry: Kids aged 5 and under (giveaway not included).

• 1st Place Overall: $75 Fleet Feet gift card.
• 2nd Place Overall: $50 Fleet Feet gift card.
• 3rd Place Overall: $25 Fleet Feet gift card.
