Show your support for Moreland Hills parks by joining us on October 4th in the heart of the Chagrin River valley for Head For The Hills 2025!

• Location: Forest Ridge Preserve, Moreland Hills, OH
• Registration Benefits: All fees and donations support the non-profit Moreland Hills Parks Commission.
• Community Impact: Proceeds help maintain and improve local parks.
• Supported Initiatives: Picnic table repairs and new benches installation.

🏃‍♂️ Race Details

We are proud of our scenic, challenging and competitive 5K through the valley! But you don’t have to be a runner to enjoy this event. Experience the trails of Forest Ridge Preserve on our 1.5 mile self-guided hike — bring the whole family!

• Giveaways: All participants in the 5K and hike will receive a special giveaway.
• Prizes: 5K competitors can win overall and age group prizes.
• Kiddie Fun: Free kids activities, crafts, and more await!
• Local Cause: Support the parks while enjoying the beauty of the Chagrin River valley.

⏰ Start Times

• 8:00 am: Runner/Hiker registration and packet pickup
• 8:45 am: Chagrin River Road Closes
• 9:00 am: 5K Run and 1.5 mile hike start, Kids activities start
• 10:00 am: 5K awards announcement

📝 Registration

• 5K Run: $25.00 (Kids 6-15: $15.00)
• 1.5 Mile Hike: $25.00 (Kids ages 6-15: $15.00)
• General Admission: No registration required (donations appreciated)
• Free for: Kids age 5 and under (giveaway not included)

📦 Early Packet Pickup

• Date: October 3, 2025
• Time: 4:00-7:00 pm

🏆 Awards

5K Run only. Awards will be given to:

• Overall: Male and Female winners.
• Top Finishers: Awards to top 3 Male and Female finishers in each age group.

🎁 Participants Receive

• Water Bottle: Custom "Head for the Hills!" aluminum water bottle!
• Snacks: Refreshments post-race.
• Giveaways: Chances for various other giveaways.

• 5K Run: Scenic out and back course along beautiful Chagrin River Road.
• 1.5-mile Hike: Through wooded trails with hills, ravines, and streams.
