Race Overview

• Course Type: A beautiful and scenic course with a mix of pavement, dirt road, and trail.
• Participants Limit: The half marathon is limited to only 150 runners.
• Fundraiser: Proceeds go directly to funding the Mancos Public Library and their programs.
• Fundraising Incentive: Participants raising $500 in donations will be reimbursed their entry fee.

Packet Pickup

• Location: Mancos Public Library, 211 W 1st St, Mancos, CO 81328
• Date: Friday, October 23rd, 2026
• Time: 5 PM - 6 PM
• Race Morning Pickup: 6:30 - 7:30 AM at the start line.

Parking

• Location: All event parking must park on Grand Ave, Boyle Park, or in the Mancos Schools parking lots.
• Accessibility: All parking is just a short walk to the Mancos Public Library.
• Instructions: Please arrive early to ensure ample time for parking and registration.
• Start Line: Located in the parking lot of the Public Library.

Race Start Times

• Cowboy Half: 8:00 AM
• 5K Race: 8:30 AM
• Kids Race: 9:30 AM
• Family Friendly: This is a very family-friendly event!

The Route

• Cowboy Half: Roughly 60% gravel roads and trails, 40% pavement.
• Trail Caution: The off-road portion is narrow and rocky: pre-running this section is not allowed.
• 5K Course: An out-and-back on a lightly traveled, paved, two-lane county road.
• Aid Stations: There will be five aid stations roughly every two miles.

Safety and Regulations

• Course Safety: Runners must stay on the left shoulder of the road and obey course marshals.
• Headphones: Runners should not wear headphones in both ears: strollers are permitted in the 5K only.
• Mile Markers: Markers will be placed at each mile with prominent signage at each turn.
• Parking and Spectating: Obey course marshals and avoid interfering with vehicle and runner traffic.

• Finisher’s Medal: All runners will receive a unique finisher’s medal.
• Race Shirt: Custom printed race shirt for all participants.
• Post Race Lunch: Enjoy a post-race meal after the event.
• Beer Garden: All participants receive a beer garden ticket.

Timing and Results

• Timing Service: Professionally timed by Rocky Mountain Timing.
• RFID Chip: Located on the back of the race bib: do not bend.
• Results Posting: Results will be posted at www.rmtiming.co and a live results kiosk will be available.

Travel Information and Weather

• Lodging Options: Numerous choices in the Mancos Valley from B&Bs to VRBOs.
• Weather Expectation: Average temperature at 8 AM is 40 degrees: expect cooler temperatures.
• Conditions: Race course may be altered due to extreme weather conditions.
• Safety Reminder: Use the aid stations and stay hydrated.
