The Veterans Day 5K and Kids Dash Dunedin

🇺🇸 Event Overview

Join us as we celebrate and run with the most patriotic Americans in Florida's most amazing downtown of Dunedin, FL on Sunday November 10, 2024, for the best Veterans Day 5K run/walk in Florida where we will celebrate veterans from across the world who have served and are still serving the US military. We are proud to announce each of those you hold in your heart for this event so bring a post it or tell us their name and service when you arrive!

📍 Race Location

The race begins and ends across from downtown near the VFW (for great photo ops) at the Dunedin Hale Center 330 Douglas Avenue, Dunedin, FL 34698, directly across the street from Dunedin Stadium.

🏅 Finisher Medals

The finishers medals are all American themed and outstanding as this is a great way to commemorate those whom YOU LOVE who have served our great nation.

🕗 Schedule and Timing

• 5K Start Time: The 5K run walk will begin from the Hale Center at 330 Douglas Avenue in Dunedin across from the stadium at 8:30 a.m.
• Kids Dash: At 8:10 a.m. race management will call all children and parents out to the Pinellas Trail for a kid's dash.
• Stroller Friendly: This run is stroller friendly and fully paved.
• Event Website: Race results can be found later on race afternoon on our event website www.727CanRace.com.

🚦 Safety Measures

We do not post results at the venue in a deliberate attempt to maintain our laid back celebratory group of runners and walkers. Your times are gathered using the electronic race splitter timing system though we do continue to advertise this as a non-competitive running event. Pinellas county Sheriff's deputies will man the 4 way stop signs along the race route heading north out and back on the Pinellas trail which is fully paved and stroller friendly.

📧 Pre-Race Information

An email will be sent to all registrants the day prior to the event by 4 pm with your bib number assignment and parking and arrival instructions for an easy check in on race day only. If you do not receive this email the day before the race by 4 pm please text Suzanne at 727-226-7223/727-CAN-RACE and we'll get it immediately over to a correct email address.

👮 Event Support

This is a co-sponsored event with the City of Dunedin so law enforcement will be positioned at each intersection along the fully paved Pinellas trail in an out and back course from the Hale Center heading north. Each of you will be running or walking through the most beautiful part of North Pinellas in downtown Dunedin, Florida.

👏 Encouragement for Veterans

Dunedin is the home to a fabulous VFW and American Legion that each of you will pass along the 5K route so please cheer back to any veterans who are outside cheering you on as this is our day to celebrate all those who have served.

🚗 Parking Information

Parking is free at the Hale Center as well as at the Dunedin Library. An email will go out the day before the race around 4 PM with your bib number assignment and final arrival instructions for a successful morning where we celebrate many who have served in all branches of the US military, law enforcement, fire rescue, and 1st responders.
