Purpose of the Event

• Aim: To raise awareness about depression and its sometimes fatal result… Suicide.
• In Memory: This run/walk is in memory of Scott Hammersmith and those who have died by suicide.
• Participation: Join us to walk or run in memory of someone you have lost or to help spread the word so others are not lost.
• Alternative Option: If you are not ready for a 3.1 mile run or walk, we have measured a one mile walk at Defiance College.

Support Options

• Donations: If you want to help but can’t participate, simply make a donation in any amount.
• Awareness: Suicide should not be kept a secret: depression is a treatable illness.
• Statistics: Depressive illnesses account for more than 90 percent of all suicide deaths.
• Community Impact: Come out and let your steps help us raise awareness in our community.
