🏞️ Event Overview

Friends of Yellow River State Forest will be holding their Sixth Annual 5K and 10K Trail Run/Walk and Half-marathon on Saturday, May 10, in the State Forest. Again this year there will be an additional family-friendly, fast and flat 5K on Friday night, May 9.

• Shirt Deadline: Registrants must be registered by April 21 to receive a shirt.
• Online Registration: Closes at 11:59 on May 6, but walk-ins are welcome.

Friday, May 9:

• Registration: 5:30 p.m.
• 5K Start Time: 6:30 p.m.
• Cost: $40

Saturday, May 10:

• Registration: 7:00 a.m.
• 5K Start Time: 8:10 a.m.
• Cost: $40
• 10K Start Time: 8 a.m., Cost: $50
• Half-Marathon Start Time: 7 a.m., Cost: $60

💪 Dirty Double

Also offered again this year, the "Dirty Double":

• Friday night run plus 5K: $75
• Friday night run plus 10K: $80
• Friday night run plus half-marathon: $85
• Special gift: Dirty Double participants also get one of our coveted hand-crafted race mugs!

👶 Family-Friendly Policies

• Age Policy: All ages are welcome: children must be accompanied by a registered adult. Children over the age of 12 must be registered.
• Stroller Notice: The Friday night 5K will be family-friendly, but it is on existing trails so strollers may be difficult.
• Pet Policy: Well-behaved dogs on a leash are allowed.

Award Categories

We have added a winner category this year! New this year, we will have a male and a female winner from each of these age divisions:

• 1) 17 and under
• 2) 18 - 49
• 3) 50 and over

Winners from each category will win one of our beautiful canvases of a picture from somewhere within YRSF taken by a local photographer.

⏱️ Race Timing

Races will be timed again this year! Please note that due to the use of existing trails, the distances are not exact.

📍 Check-In Location

Check in will take place at 737 State Forest Rd, Harpers Ferry IA.

• Acorn: $1-$299—you receive your logo on participants’ t-shirts and promotion on Facebook page

Friends of Yellow River State Forest is a 501 c3, not-for-profit organization. The mission of the group is to enhance Yellow River State Forest for public use while protecting the integrity of the flora, fauna, soil, and water. All funds raised by the Friends group are invested back into the state forest.
