Come join us to Celebrate Juneteenth with a fun 2.5 Mile run. Bring the kids for a free 1K run as well.

🕔 Race Schedule

• Kids 1K Start: 5:30 pm
• 2.5 Mile Start: 6:19 pm
• Date: June 19, 2025
• Location: Glass City Metropark, Toledo, OH

💰 Registration Fees

• 2.5 Mile: $12, TRRC members get a $2.00 discount taken at checkout.
• Kids 1K: Free!
• Optional Shirt: $15 each.
• Packet Pick Up: Wednesday, June 18th, 2025 from 4 PM - 6 PM at Second Sole in Perrysburg.

🎉 Celebrate Juneteenth

Join us for an opportunity to celebrate Juneteenth with a 2.5-mile run/walk and Kids 1K. The event takes place amidst multiple family-friendly Juneteenth activities throughout the day. Juneteenth has been celebrated since June 19, 1865, when federal troops were sent to Galveston, Texas to deliver Order No. 3 (the news of the 1863 Emancipation Proclamation) to the enslaved people of Texas, 2 ½ years after its signing.

👟 Honoring Opal Lee

Juneteenth became a Federally recognized holiday in 2021, thanks largely due to the efforts of a retired teacher, principal, and grandmother who walked 2.5 miles through multiple cities until she arrived in Washington DC. Texas native, Opal Lee was in her late 80s when she began her 2.5 walking campaign. Opal Lee is known as the lady in tennis shoes and as the grandmother of Juneteenth.
