Puppy Creek Fire Department “Run for a Cure” 5K

Event Overview

The 5K is a chance to get out and crawl-walk-jog-run with your neighbors, family and friends. This event helps raise money towards getting free breast exams, wig assistance and other breast cancer-related opportunities for Hoke County residents who don't have the resources to do so. Our goal is to raise awareness of breast cancer, generate interest in donations, educate the public on breast cancer and ways to identify it and work through it. Cape Fear Valley Heath is a key member of our team. They are a partner organization and once again have graciously donated the start/stop and parking locations for the participants. We are excited to have Hoke County Sheriff's Office and Hoke County EMS assisting with the event!

Registration Information

• Pre-registration: 4/1/26 - 10/23/26 online ($35).
• Walk-up Registration: $40 on race day.
• Early Registration: By 9/23/26 guarantees a t-shirt and medal on race day!
• Children: Those 7 and under can participate for free: no shirt or medal will be issued.

Event Details

This will be a self-timed event. Sign in will be from 7:45 to 9:00 on the back lawn of Cape Fear Valley Hoke Campus.

• Restrictions: Please NO pets, bikes, or scooters: however, baby strollers are welcome.
• Shirt and Medal Guarantee: NO shirts or medals will be guaranteed if you register after 9/23/2026.
• Extra Shirts: Available at the registration tables on race day on a first-come basis.
• Runner's Medal: Everyone with a runner’s bib who completes the race will receive a race medal at the finishing line.

Important Notes

NO SHOWS WILL FORFEIT SHIRT AND MEDAL. The Fire Department, Cape Fear Valley, Sheriff’s Department, or EMS will not be responsible to hold personal property for anyone.

Event Location

The race will take place at 210 Medical Pavilion Drive, Raeford, NC.
