💔 In Memory of Jim Varin

• Background: Jim Varin was a dedicated firefighter in Providence for 31 years, thankful to have a job he loved.
• Diagnosis: In January 2022, Jim was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, at just 52.
• Legacy: Before his passing, Jim wanted to help others affected by Glioblastoma.
• Event Purpose: The race aims to keep Jim's memory alive and help those affected by brain and spine cancers.

• Beneficiary: All proceeds support The Rhode Island Brain & Spine Tumor Foundation (RIBSTF).
• Mission: RIBSTF provides support for individuals and families diagnosed with brain or spine tumors.
• Services: They offer education, spiritual, and financial support, as well as assist research initiatives.
• Community Effort: Your participation makes a difference for brain/spine cancer patients and their families.

Please note: Dogs and strollers are precluded from participating in the event.

🗓 Bib Pick Up

• Date & Time: Sunday, May 17th - 6:30 AM to 7:45 AM at Deerfield Park.
• Quick Check-in: Please bring your QR code: it can be shown from your mobile device.
• Assignment: Bib numbers will be assigned at check-in.

🏅 Awards

• Top Finishers: Top 3 Overall Male & Female for both the 5k & 10k.
• Age Group Awards: 1st Place Age Group Award Male & Female for the 5k & 10k.
• Age Groups: 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 84-90, 90+
