WINNIE’S WAY 5K RESCUE RUN!

When:

• Date: SATURDAY, AUGUST 29, 2026

Where:

• Location: Arthur Ray Teague Boat Launch/Bike Path
• Address: 3140 Arthur Ray Teague Parkway, Bossier City

Time:

• 5k Race: Begins at 8:00 a.m.
• Kids Fun Run: Starts at 7:45 a.m.

About the Race:

• Purpose: All proceeds from the race will go to support Winnie’s Wish that all rescue dogs with special needs obtain proper care and loving homes!

Course Description:

• Start: Starting at the Arthur Ray Teague (ART) Boat Launch
• Type: Out and back course on the ART Bike path.

Registration:

• Early Registration: $25 until August 20th
• Late Registration: $30 Aug 21st – Aug 28th
• Race Day Registration: $35
• Note: Shirt sizes are only guaranteed for those who register by midnight August 19th.

Lazy Dawg Sleep-in Supporter:

• Option: Don’t feel like getting up and running? Not a problem!
• Sign Up: You still get a race shirt without breaking a sweat!

Kid’s ½ Mile Fun Run:

• Eligibility: Kids ages 10 & under can sign up for the ½-Mile Kids Fun Run.
• Registration Fee: $10
• Race Time: Begins at 7:45 a.m.
• Awards: Top boy and girl finishers will receive a trophy!

Packet Pick Up:

• Location: Sportspectrum
• Date: Thursday, Aug. 27th from noon- 6:00 p.m.
• Date: Friday, Aug. 28th from 10:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
• Race Day: Starting at 7:00 a.m.

Awards:

• Overall Winner: Overall Male & Female finishers will receive a $200 cash prize and a trophy.
• Age Group Awards: 1st Place Male & Female in each age group will receive a trophy.

Age Groups:

• 12 & under
• 13–17
• 18-29
• 30–39
• 40–49
• 50–59
• 60+

Post Party:

• Refreshments: Be sure to stay after the race for refreshments and awards!
• Organizations: Several area animal rescue organizations will be present with adoptable pets and information about their organizations!

Special Notes:

• Dog Policy: You are welcome to bring your dog, as long as it is leashed at all times.
• Strollers: Strollers, wagons, baby joggers, and any hand-pushed or pulled vehicle will be allowed on the course at a walk pace only.
• Prohibited: Absolutely NO in-line skates, roller skates, or runners with baby strollers will be allowed on the run course.
• Note: This rule is an RRCA regulation!
