Run for the Word 5K

🏁 Course Details

• Start Location: The Run for the Word 5K course will start on Zion Street, across Highway 153 from Trinity Lutheran Church (108 W. Rice Street, Landis NC 28088).
• Route: Turn right on Hoke Street, right again on Kimmons Street, and another right on Rice Street. Continue to Highway 29 Business and turn left.
• Turnaround Point: Follow for 1.1 miles to the turnaround in the parking lot at Hogan's Cabinetry.
• Finish Line: Retrace the route back to Landis for 1 mile and turn right on Ridge Avenue then left on Zion Street to finish beside Trinity Lutheran, the host facility. This is a fast and flat course!

💰 Proceeds

• Beneficiary: All proceeds go to the South Rowan Public Schools Bible Teaching Association.

🍦 Ice Cream Treat

• Reward: Each 5k and fun run participant will be rewarded with a free SCOOP OF ICE CREAM - HOMEMADE by South Rowan High School's Future Farmers of America Club!

💵 Pricing Information

• Pre-Race Price: 5k price through September 12 (online) - $30, Ages 18 & Under - $20.
• Race Day Price: $35.
• Fun Run Price: 1/2 Mile Fun Run price - $10.

🕖 Race Day Registration & Check-In

• Check-In Start: 7:30 a.m.
• 5K Start Time: 9:00 a.m.
• Fun Run Start Time: 10:00 a.m.
• Location: Registration & Check-In will be at the Trinity Lutheran Church - 108 W. Rice Street, Landis, NC 28088.

🌍 Virtual Option

• Cost: $30 - all ages.
• Details: Want to support the race but would rather run or walk at a time of your own choosing? The virtual 5K is for you!
• Shirt Pickup: Shirts may be picked up in person the day of the race - September 13, 2025 - from 7:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church or at an alternative location and time TBD.
• Awards Eligibility: Virtual participants not eligible for awards.

🏆 Awards

• Overall Awards: Top 3 Overall Male and Female. Overall Masters Male and Female.
• Age Division Awards: 5K Top 3 Male and Female participants in each age division.
• Fun Run Awards: 1/2 Mile Fun-Run Top 3 Male and Female ages 12 and under.

👵 Age Groups

• 5K Age Groups: 11 & under, 12-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & over.
• Fun Run Age Group: 12 & under.

👕 Shirts

• Technical T-Shirt: 5K participants (in person and virtual) will receive a technical t-shirt.
