Run for the Word 5K

🏁 Course Description

• Location: The Run for the Word 5K course will start on Zion Street, across Highway 153 from Trinity Lutheran Church (108 W. Rice Street, Landis NC 28088).
• Route: Turn right on Hoke Street, right again on Kimmons Street, and another right on Rice Street.
• Turnaround: Continue to Highway 29 Business and turn left. Follow for 1.1 miles to the turnaround in the parking lot at Hogan's Cabinetry.
• Finish Line: Retrace the route back to Landis for 1 mile and turn right on Ridge Avenue and then left on Zion Street to finish beside Trinity Lutheran, the host facility.

This is a fast and flat course!!

💰 Proceeds

• Donation: All proceeds go to the South Rowan Public Schools Bible Teaching Association.

🍦 Ice Cream Treat

• Reward: Each 5K and fun run participant will be rewarded with a free SCOOP OF ICE CREAM!!

💵 Pricing

• 5K Price: $30 through September 12 (online), Ages 18 & Under - $20
• Race Day Price: $35
• Fun Run Price: $10

🕒 Event Schedule

• Registration & Check-In: 7:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 108 W. Rice Street, Landis, NC 28088.
• 5K Start Time: 9:00 a.m.
• Fun Run Start Time: 10:00 a.m.

🌍 Virtual Option

• Cost: $30 for all ages. Want to support the race but would rather run or walk at a time of your own choosing?!
• Shirt: Virtual 5K runners and walkers will receive a shirt.
• Pickup: Shirts may be picked up in person the day of the race - September 13, 2025.
• Awards: Virtual participants not eligible for awards.

🏆 Awards

• Overall Awards: Top 3 Overall Male and Female. Overall Masters Male and Female. 5K Top 3 Male and Female participants in each age division.
• Fun Run Awards: 1/2 Mile Fun-Run Top 3 Male and Female ages 12 and under.

👶 Age Groups

• 5K: 11 & under, 12-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & over.
• Fun Run: 12 & under.

👕 Shirts

• Participants: 5K participants (in person and virtual) will receive a technical t-shirt.
