Take Flight 5k & 1 Mile Run

✈️ The 13th Annual Take Flight 5k

Let your feet take flight on the Greenville Downtown Airport runway for one of the most unique running experiences and flattest 5k races around.

📅 Event Details

• Date: Saturday, May 23rd, 2026
• Location: 21 Airport Road Ext., Greenville, SC US 29607
• Costumes: Highly encouraged, competition is encouraged, and fun is mandatory!
• Prizes: Will be given out between races.

🚶 Participants

• Strollers: Allowed
• Walkers: Welcome
• Pets: Not allowed in this race.
• Ceremony: A moment to honor our fallen veterans with a small ceremony prior to the race conducted by the Civil Air Patrol.

🕒 Schedule

• Late Registration: 6:30 am
• Ceremony Starts: 7:30 am
• 5k Race Begins: 8:00 am
• 1 Mile Race Begins: 8:45 am

🏆 Awards

• 5k Race: Gun Start Awards for the top 3 males & females overall.
• Age Group Categories: Awards for top 3 males & females in various age categories (1-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+).
• 1 Mile Race: Gun Start Awards for top 3 male and female overall.
• Age Group Categories: Awards for top 3 boys & girls in various age groups (1-9, 10-12, 13-16, 17-19).

💰 All Proceeds

All proceeds from the race and any fundraising goes to Runway Park maintenance and improvements.
