✈️ The 12th Annual Take Flight 5k

Let your feet take flight on the Greenville Downtown Airport runway for one of the most unique running experiences and flattest 5k races around.

🎉 Event Details

• Join us: Memorial Day weekend at the Greenville Downtown Airport for the 12th Annual Take Flight 5K on Saturday, May 23rd, 2026. Costumes and Competition are highly encouraged. Fun mandatory! Official groups will be publicly recognized.
• Prizes: Prizes will be given out between races.
• Accessibility: Strollers and walkers are allowed. No pets are allowed in this race.
• Ceremony: We will take a moment to honor our fallen veterans with a small ceremony prior to the race. We will have the Special Forces Association Parachute Team jump in the National Colors. The Civil Air Patrol will conduct the missing comrade ceremony. The Greenville City Fire Department will run the one mile in full gear.

• Ceremony starts: 7:30 am
• 5k race begins: 8:00 am
• 1 mile race begins: 8:45 am

• Packet pickup: Friday, May 22nd: 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the loop between Takeoff Minigolf and the Museum.
• Packet pickup: Saturday, May 23rd: 6:30am - 7:45am
