Take Flight 5k & 1 Mile Run

🏃‍♂️ The 13th Annual Take Flight 5k

Event Overview:

Let your feet take flight on the Greenville Downtown Airport runway for one of the most unique running experiences and flattest 5k races around.

• Date: Saturday, May 23rd, 2026
• Location: Greenville Downtown Airport, 21 Airport Road Ext., Greenville, SC US 29607
• Costumes: Highly encouraged, and competition is welcomed!
• Prizes: Will be awarded between races.

🎖️ Race Details:

• Strollers: Allowed
• Pets: Not allowed
• Ceremony: A small ceremony will honor our fallen veterans, conducted by the Civil Air Patrol.
• Registration: Late registration starts at 6:30 am

⏰ Schedule of Events:

• Ceremony starts: 7:30 am
• 5k race begins: 8:00 am
• 1 mile race begins: 8:45 am

📦 Bib & Shirt Pickup:

• Thursday, May 21st: 4:00pm - 7:00pm at the loop between Takeoff Minigolf and the Museum.
• Friday, May 22nd: 4:00pm - 7:00pm at the same location.
• Saturday, May 23rd: 6:30am - 7:45am at the start area.

🏆 Awards:

• 5k Race: Top 3 males & females overall and in age groups (1-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+).
• 1 Mile Race: Top 3 overall males & females, and Top 3 in age categories (1-9, 10-12, 13-16, 17-19).

💰 Support:

All proceeds from the race and any fundraising go to Runway Park maintenance and improvements.
